Dominic let out a sigh, "Let it be, Matthew. Arette will be fine as long as she's with me. Just focus on your meeting with the CEO of Vigo Gram today."
"Alright, alright," Matthew conceded.
Meanwhile, on the second floor, Garette sighed, feeling no more tired than when he had first laid down. He tossed and turned in his bed, unable to shake the images from his head.
He kept replaying Dyanne's words in his mind, the cold, emotionless tone in which she had described stabbing a man in the neck with no remorse.
He tried to rationalise it, telling himself that maybe Dyanne had been in danger, that she had no choice but to defend herself. But the more he thought about it, the more he felt sick to his stomach.
The constant buzzing of his phone, signalling Dyanne's attempts to contact him, was driving Garette nuts, but he refused to acknowledge it. Every time he saw Dyanne's name on the screen, he felt a wave of revulsion and shock wash over him.
