"What is that in your hands?" Garette's eyes had gone to Dyanne's hands where she held cigarettes. She quickly pulled it behind her skirt in a futile attempt to hide what had already been seen.
Dyanne ignored Garette's questions like he never asked and focused on what she overheard, "What were you and Joseph talking about?"
"Don't tell me you're smoking," This time, Garette took a few steps closer to Dyanne, giving her eyes a good look. Even though Garette planned on using the fact that he saw a cigarette with her to cover up his conversation with Joseph that she had overheard, he was still genuinely concerned about Dyanne's health and also worried as to why she started smoking anyways.
