She frowned, trying to make sense of the situation. "And you decided my parents didn't need to know about my condition? What if something bad had happened to me?"
"Nothing bad will happen to you. I won't let it. They don't know about your accident because I didn't want to worry them unnecessarily. When you're feeling stronger, we can reach out to them. They already know about our relationship; they gave us their blessings. They trust me, and I need you to do the same."
Dominic spun lies after lies, making it hard for anyone to doubt his words. This was Dominic's real personality: cunningly calm.
Arette nodded slowly, though she was still feeling sceptical about everything. She bit her lip, unsure of how to address him since she didn't want to be disrespectful by calling him by name plainly and she didn't exactly remember how she usually addressed him.
