Chapter 6 - C5 - A year later

After hitting the jackpot, a whirlwind of activity ensued as purchases and endeavors took off in various directions.

My parents opted to acquire numerous hectares of land, earmarked for cultivating rice, coconuts, and an array of fruit trees. Vacant properties in our vicinity transformed into ranches and orchards, generating ample job opportunities for the local population.

Business burgeoned overnight, with the generous assistance of our close-knit relatives. As children, we were absolved from direct involvement in the business. Instead, I busied myself with my own pursuits, connecting with people and expanding my network.

Another year down the road, I had gained a more comprehensive understanding of investing. Concurrently, I directed my focus inward. I grappled with the notion of elegance and grace, attributes seemingly effortless for those born into old aristocratic Asian-European families. This became my aspiration. I longed for the level of refinement epitomized by Michael Eclair, a level I had yet to attain.

In the genetic lottery, I inherited my mother's lovely countenance. However, mastering the art of dressing proved to be a challenge. My fashion philosophy gravitated towards "neat and comfortable." Given my family's conservative nature, I steered clear of overly revealing attire, recognizing how fashion trends had evolved over the years.

Thus, I grew accustomed to donning loose T-shirts paired with roomy pants. My tall stature contributed to a striking presence that bordered on dapper.

Once upon a time, I enjoyed physical activities, particularly yoga. Weightlifting and the like held little appeal for me. With this in mind, I engaged a yoga instructor. Between seven and nine in the morning, our garden became adorned with yoga mats.

Initially, it was solely the instructor and myself. Yet, my mother joined in, drawing my father's curiosity. In short order, my sisters joined the sessions, and soon after, our entire family participated. Even my paternal cousins joined the yoga sessions, followed by my mother's circle of friends.

As our numbers multiplied, our garden reverberated with vibrancy. To elevate this liveliness, I engaged a Zumba instructor for the ladies, infusing an added layer of energy and enjoyment.
