Discussion with Gilbert>>>>>>>>>>
Gwen was ticking on the list she has prepared in search of people who could help her in raising money to pay Mr Carnegie just as she heard a knock on the door.
"I'm coming". She said tiredly. She peeped through the peephole to see Gilbert standing outside her door holding a single rose flower. She was not even prepared to even see him yet. She has a lot to deal with at the moment. Maybe she should go back and act like she had not heard him at all.
No,she has to deal with him once and for all.
She opened the door and he entered smiling broadly. He was smelling really nice and looked like he just had a shave before coming here. Normally, Gwen would have hugged him but right now,she was disgusted by his presence that all she wants to do is throw him out of the front door and slam the door on his face.
"What do you want,Gilbert?" She asked crossing her arms.
"I brought you flowers." Gilbert said extending the flower to her. Gwen ignored it acting like she didn't see him stretching the flower to her.
" What are you here for, Gilbert?"
Gilbert frowned," I don't understand you. Should there be a reason before I can come check up on you? You are my fiancee"
Gwen laughed out loud before looking at him in disbelief," Fiancee? Oh come on,Gilbert. You are too...old to be cracking silly jokes around."
" Does this sound like a joke to you?"Gilbert asked upset.
" Yes, it does. You,your flower and whatever you are spewing out of your mouth,sounds like a complete joke to me. You call me your fiancee and while my life has been in total disarray, you rather go about fixing furnitures than checking if I am fine".
Gilbert smiled and grabbed Gwen's shoulder smiling at her.
" Come on,Gwen. I know you are a strong lady. I know the lady I am courting.You are not one of those soft ladies who is always after attention and stuffs like that. And honestly,I tried coming to check up on you but I had a lot of business to take care of that I got so so busy."
" You got so busy that you couldn't even call?! You could not even spare thirty minutes to come check up on me. "
" You are making this all about yourself, Gwen. This is not about you. Sometimes you have to understand your partner when they say they are busy."
" This is not about me? Of course it is!! I am the one who is going through the most toughest period of my life. I am the one whose father placed her brother as a collateral! I am the one whose brother is locked up somewhere in the darkness in Carnegie's mansion!! I am the one who has to sort out all of the bills while my fiance is busy going up and down making furnitures,fixing people houses while I am broken and need to be fixed. So don't tell me this is not about me! It is all about me!!! I can't bare to think of your lame excuses right now or anybody's. All I need is to fix my life and when I mean fix it,it is by getting my brother out of that shit hole he has been kept."
Gilbert scoffed and shook his head in disbelief." Can you hear yourself,Gwen? Why are you always about yourself? You do not see anybody around you or place them first. It is just you and you!"
" It is about me because I am the only one who has to do every thing myself.Since you heard about everything that has been going on,have you tried reaching me? Have you even thought of how to help me so I can get my brother out?"
" I don't understand. Why will I be the one looking for solutions to bring Roy out?"
" Because you are my fiance. Even if you can not show concern,at least try to make an effort to help".
" Why should I? I didn't get him there in the first place."
Gwen swallowed hard," Get out!"
" I should what?"
" I said get out!!! Get out of my house! I can't deal with all of this and you at the same time."
" So because you feel I'm not being concerned and I'm not out there playing super hero,all of a sudden I become a villain, an uncaring partner. And now you want me out of your house?"
" It is obvious you don't have me in your best interest. So there is absolutely no need for you to come here pretending like you care."
" Are you acting this way because of what happened at my store the other day? Is this about your insecurities? Your trust issues?"
" Get out of my house in capital letter."Gwen said pointing at the door.
" I had to come all the way down here leaving the job I had at hand to come give you a flower and to see how you are doing. First, there was no nice reception. You treated me coldly. And without even offering me a chair,you start by bringing up things so we can argue and fight."
" Now let me tell you this. And I want you to get this straight. As my man,you failed in your promises of being there in my lowest. You abandoned me and didn't even bother to call or text or to even visit to check how I am holding up. Secondly,you do not give a hoot about my brother. Like you said,it is not your responsibility and you are correct. I was just being delusional when I thought you are the man I want to spend my life with. A man who doesn't care about me and would ghost me and not talk to me. A man I can't sit and talk to about how I feel deep inside without feeling one day,he will use my words against me."
" That is you feeling insecure again!"
" Yes I feel insecure because you use every of my word against me. If not today,maybe next. You have never been committed to our relationship,to us. I kept on giving one or two excuses on your behalf but that is all it is going to be. Excuses upon excuses. But right here,this moment has helped me realize the kind of person you are. And just like you said earlier,I am a strong woman and a strong woman knows what she wants. I want you out of my life,Gilbert."
" You are just being overwhelmed by the whole situation. I know you don't mean to..."
" I mean every of my words. Pick up your dead flower and walk out of my door."
" So this is it? This is how you want to end us?"
"It seemed like we ended a long time ago".
" I do not beg, Gwen. But mark my very words, you will come crawling to me."
" I hope that time never comes". Gwen said stiffly holding back the urge to smack him hard across the face.
"You will come begging like the unloved,unfortunate person you are! I don't even know what I am doing with someone like you! All you attract is bad luck so go sort out your broken piece of shit you call life!" Gilbert yelled angrily as he stepped out of the house slamming the door behind him. Gwen fell to her knees crying.
