Chapter 4 - Unexpected encounter 2

After a brief goodbye, Allen left the boy's room and headed deeper into the building where William's office was located. When he arrived at his destination, there were two people waiting for him. One was William, of course, and the other was Allen's older brother.

|| Well there you are and I was about to ask someone to find you, where have you been brother? ||

|| I met someone while you were minding your own business. ||

|| I have a hunch that it might be my youngest son. ||

|| Right, he is a really interesting person, I would like to choose him as my right hand. He seems like a smart and talented guy. ||

|| ....Are you sure you want Vincent and not one of the twins? ||

|| Forgive me, but your twins are a pain in the ass. ||

|| Unfortunately, I know this myself, which is why I sent them to their mother. ||

|| I still don't understand how these two are yours, they don't resemble you at all, neither in appearance nor in character. ||

|| Even if they weren't mine, I have no proof of that. Besides, could you take your hand off my face? ||

|| You are as insensitive as when we first met. ||

|| Brother, I would appreciate it if you would stop flirting with your counselor. Back to Vincent, could I have him as my advisor? ||

|| I don't have a problem with that, but I want you to help me keep him out of trouble. ||

|| Don't worry, your son will be in good hands, I will watch over him as if he were my own sibling. ||

|| Glad to hear it. ||

At the same time, Vincent got ready for bed, looking forward to tomorrow. Although he had made a few mistakes today, Allen probably hadn't suspected anything suspicious or important. The boy did not consider that his friend might be as intelligent as he was, or even smarter. The protagonist fell asleep, slept through the night without any problems, slept so well that he even surprised himself. He was awakened by the sun's rays peeling off the window, so even if he wanted to sleep some more, he couldn't. He decided to get dressed and go to the library, but before he could leave his room, Hely knocked on his door and asked him to come to William's study. The boy left the room without hesitation and let himself be led by the elderly maid to the study where his parents were sitting. With some hesitation, he approached the door to knock, but before he could, William gave him permission to enter.

|| Hello dad, is something wrong that you called me? ||

|| Hello Vin, you don't have to worry I don't have any bad news for you, I just wanted to ask if it's true that you met Allen. ||

|| That's right, I met him, we even became friends. ||

|| I am glad that you have found a responsible friend, but I must warn you that sometimes Allen can be very extreme. But that is not the reason for your call, your friend told me that today he will personally bring you an invitation to his birthday. ||

|| Really? That's very nice of him. ||

|| That's true, but I wish you wouldn't tell him that I told you his plan. Allen's birthday is in a week, so I thought we'd do a little shopping today so you could buy him something and get to know the layout of the capital. ||

|| In that case, can we leave right away? ||

|| Right away? All in all, why not, but at this time some stores may still be closed. ||

|| I don't mind, I would like to spend more time with my dad. ||

William, hearing his son's words, unconsciously smiled, which is not a common sight, but Vincent thought that his father had a cheerful personality due to the fact that whenever he sees him, William smiles at the sight of him.

|| In such a case, I have no choice but to get ready, I also want to spend time with my son. ||

Saying this, William got up from his chair and walked over to the coat rack by the door. There was a long coat hanging on the hanger, and William put it on himself, then stroked his son's head.

|| What are you waiting for, you better run for your coat, today is not the warmest day, I don't want you to catch a cold when we get back from the capital. ||

Vincent went to get his own cloak, after which they both took a carriage into the capital, as it was still early there were not many people on the streets, so they could look around for a gift in peace. It didn't take Vincent long to find a stall that interested him, displaying a variety of handmade jewelry and talismans, all with precious stones in various colors and shapes. Vincent was particularly interested in a pair of bracelets made of three strings of different shades of brown, with beads also in the shades of the strings, with polished gemstones in the center of the bracelets in the form of beads. The stone was citrine, and while the boy was staring at the bracelets, the owner of the stall approached him.

|| I see that these bracelets have caught your attention. I must say that you have good eyes, this stone has interesting properties, mainly it helps with bad mood, but it can also bring its owner good luck and wealth. ||

|| Sounds like a good gift idea. ||

|| That's right, in that case you made a decision, young man? ||

|| Yes, I will take these bracelets, could I ask you to wrap them as a gift? ||

|| No problem, in that case let me give you a small accessory. It's a talisman that will allow you to protect yourself or someone else from evil forces. ||

Said the kind owner after handing the boy a pouch made of a material similar to velour, along with an additional talisman he had received for free. The boy paid and thanked the owner for the gift, and decided to take a bracelet from the bag, put it on, and put the talisman in his pocket. In the center of the square was a large fountain, and William sat by it, waiting for his child. He decided not to go too far away from Vincent, because he was afraid that if he lost sight of him, he wouldn't be able to find him again. The protagonist thoughtfully approached the fountain where his parents were sitting, but when he was close enough, his father looked at him and smiled gently. Vincent happily walked over and sat down next to him, then saw his parent push a paper bag in his direction, the protagonist was momentarily confused, but when he looked inside he realized that his dad had bought him a couple of sweet rolls and a handful of candies at a nearby candy store.

|| How did the gift search go? ||

|| All right, I happened to find an interesting item, but I think I'll look around the nearby stands a bit more to see if I can find something better. ||

|| As you see fit, but don't go too far, I don't want you to get lost somewhere. ||

|| Rest assured, dad, I will not go around corners I do not know. ||

|| That's good to hear. In that case, as if you need me, or when you're done shopping, I'll be in a nearby bar, as if I hadn't had a drink in a long time. ||

Vincent went back to the place with the stalls after these words, but not to buy something, but because of the smell, the boy buying the bracelets felt someone with the smell of fresh blood next to him, but it was not the blood of an ordinary animal. The protagonist knew that somewhere in the area there was a warehouse or shop full of illegal slaves for sale, but he wasn't sure if they were just slaves or magical beasts. Before setting out to rescue the enslaved, he decided to buy another cloak so people wouldn't recognize him, this time instead of an elegant cloak without a hood, he bought a typical hooded cloak that covered his entire body. After buying what he needed, he decided to go on a rescue mission, which surprisingly did not take long. It turned out that the slave traders had their base in one of the side streets that normal residents don't often venture into. Hiding in the shadows, the boy closed his eyes and concentrated on his surroundings to find out how many enemies he had to defeat, unfortunately he couldn't determine the exact number because there were too many living beings in the building. Despite his uncertainty, he could expect at least twenty opponents, which would not be easy. Without giving up, he made his way to the massive door, then blew it open, causing quite a stir among the villains, and in the ensuing chaos he easily disposed of the five men, while taking a sword from one of the corpses to better defend himself. Walking through the corridor where the already dead guards of the place were running out, he came to one of the smaller cages where he saw a small fluffy bat with green fur and dark purple eyes, normally he would have left the baby bat and dealt only with the bad guys, but he did not know why he was unable to leave the baby bat, probably because it would end up dying. Not having much time, he decided to break the lock on the cage and gently pull the unconscious baby out of it, placing it in the watch pocket of his vest, making sure it wouldn't fall out as he moved, taking a few test steps first, then once he was sure of the safety of his new pet, he moved forward to finish this game as soon as possible so he could get home to see Allen again. Surprisingly fast he took care of the villains and freed all the trapped people and more, at first the people were all the more uncertain when they saw how easily the creature in front of them had taken care of the guards they themselves had problems with, but the hesitation didn't last long when they heard in the distance the sounds of the royal guard slowly walking down the same corridor the protagonist had come through. With no way to escape, he decided to do like one of the victims and hid in a corner for the time being, waiting for the incoming help to find him. Before they found him, however, the boy decided to make it more authentic and quietly locked himself in one of the larger cages the villains planned to put the newly captured magical creature in; the boy knew that wouldn't be enough, so he handcuffed himself to the handcuffs he'd stolen from one of the corpses earlier and quietly prepared for his act. Everything went according to his plan, one of the royal guards found him and pulled him out of the cage, the boy looked at his "hero" with tears in his eyes and said how scared he was when a man dragged him here and put him in that cage. Of course, these people believed him immediately, after all, what child would lie in such a situation, right? Everything ended quite well, except for the fact that one of the knights saw wounds on the boy's neck, so he decided to take him to a nearby doctor, but the boy refused, saying that he wanted to return as soon as possible to his parents, who were probably worried about his disappearance at the moment. This adventure ended in William's panic when he saw the condition in which his child had returned; moreover, under the care of one of the guards who had "rescued" him, the rescuer explained everything that had happened and handed the boy over after making sure that he was not in mortal danger. The boy was immediately dragged to a nearby doctor, who easily cleaned his wounds so he wouldn't have to worry about infection, and then gently bandaged the young man's neck. The wounds, fortunately, were not deep enough to endanger Vincent's life, so both he and William decided to abandon further sightseeing and simply decided that they had had enough excitement for one day, but during their ride in the carriage, faint and soft noises were heard coming from the boy's pocket, the boy by the whole situation completely forgetting about the little creature he had taken with him. William, hearing these noises, began to look at his son suspiciously, waiting for an explanation as to why Vincent's clothes were suddenly making noises. The boy had just realized that he had no choice but to confess to carrying one of the creatures out of the illegal warehouse.

// I hope my dad will take pity on me and let me keep the little creature I took from that horrible warehouse.... How do I convince him to do that?.... //

....
