Ethan made his way over to Irene, who stood holding the Heartstone. Its soft, pulsing light cast a warm glow on her face. She looked up at him, relief evident in her eyes.
"We did it," she said, her voice barely audible over the still-blowing wind.
Ethan nodded, a small smile playing on his lips. "Yeah, we did."
He glanced around the barren expanse, his gaze lingering where the masked figure had stood moments before. He sense his presence a moment ago when he busy fighting the skeletons.
"But we need to stay on guard."
Irene saw that Ethan looked alert when looking in one direction. She immediately knew that there was something he felt. Something she can't see.
Irene followed his gaze but saw nothing but swirling dust. She clutched the Heartstone tightly.
Ethan turned his gaze from that place back to Irene. Then around them. "Isn't it time for us to move to the next floor? Unless, this is not over."
