After the group settled down Matthew took a deep breath and began to explain the reason behind the heated debate. His voice, though calm, carried a heavy weight as he recounted the troubling events that had sparked the argument. It seemed that they didn't want to waste time trying to look less weakened.
"Earlier," Matthew said, "some of our scouts ventured into the city to gather intel. What they found was far worse than anything we could have anticipated. The monsters have been brutal in their actions. They've taken the bodies of our fallen comrades from the labyrinth and used them to decorate the entrance of their dungeon. It's a grotesque display meant to intimidate and demoralize us."
The expressions in the group changed after hearing that… it was truly brutal and pretty hard to remain comfortable after hearing that. These are the creatures they are going to face soon, after all.
