"Ah, oh, oh."
Qin Liusi sprung onto the bed in the inn's guest room with a graceful bounce, rolling over twice and sighing contentedly. "At last, I can recline upon solid bedding. Travel is truly fatiguing."
Chen Pi placed the luggage aside and chuckled in response, "Young master, the journey from Licheng to Ningzhou is merely a little over two days. If you find this exhausting, what would you say to longer voyages?"
"So, your master is one who would rather meet his end in comfort," Qin Liusi stretched his limbs gracefully. "Henceforth, if he seeks medical aid, he shall have to present himself, as I shall not bother if he chooses not to."
Chen Pi smiled knowingly, though she refrained from speaking. While this was indeed the case, if matters became inconvenient, she would still attend to them.
"Young master, you may rest for now. Shall I prepare a medicinal bath to relieve your weariness?"
"Let the men from Fire Wolf assist. You too, should take a moment to rest."
Chen Pi grinned playfully, "I am not weary. If I were to allow those rough-handed individuals to handle the young master's affairs, Sister-in-law would surely scold me. Young master, I shall depart now."
Qin Liusi understood that both siblings were like this. When it came to matters concerning him, they would not delegate to others. Thus, he let her go.
While awaiting the medicinal bath, Qin Liusi took a brief respite, and upon its arrival, he luxuriated in the bath, appearing refreshed when he emerged in the inn's lobby.
Qi Qian had changed into fresh attire and was seated, savoring tea. Suddenly, he caught a faint scent of herbs. Turning his head, he spotted Qin Liusi descending the stairs, his complexion possibly enhanced by his recent bath, radiating a porcelain-like luster.
There were other patrons in the lobby, who couldn't help but steal a few more glances at Qin Liusi. This young gentleman, with his rosy lips and pearl-white teeth, was truly handsome, though he exuded a hint of arrogance and aloofness.
"I assumed Doctor Qin would be dining in his room," Qi Qian fetched another cup, pouring tea for Qin Liusi as he sat down.
Qin Liusi remarked, "From Sir Qi's words, it seems as though he wishes not to see me. Should I take my leave?"
Qi Qian hastily responded, "Certainly not." Then he inquired, "Doctor Qin, was that a medicinal bath? It seems quite effective," abandoning his previous fatigued demeanor.
Qin Liusi raised an eyebrow, remarking, "Would Sir Qi also like a prescription?"
"If Doctor Qin is willing to be generous, I am willing to pay for it, including the golden wound medicine and the various pills you have prepared," Qi Qian's eyes sparkled with anticipation.
Qin Liusi inwardly acknowledged Qi Qian's discerning eye. He could recognize a good thing with just one glance.
"Sir Qi, medicines can be as harmful as they are beneficial, and they are not confections to be taken lightly."
Qi Qian replied calmly, "Indeed, but these are essential remedies for household and travel, to be prepared for any eventuality."
"Pfft." Qin Liusi choked on his tea, leaning closer and whispering, "Actually, I also possess a deadly poison, a necessary antidote for self-defense and assassination. Would you like some? I've noticed quite a few people plotting against you!"
Qi Qian remained speechless.
Meanwhile, Chen Pi, seated at the adjacent table, chuckled. The young master was up to his mischievous antics again!
Just as Qi Qian was about to respond, Qin Liusi glanced towards the door, prompting Qi Qian to follow his gaze.
They observed the inn's manager personally welcoming a group of individuals, displaying a demeanor of utmost deference and humility. It was unclear who these people were.
Leading the group was a middle-aged figure of apparent authority, followed by an elegantly attired elderly lady. Beside her, a young maiden wearing a white bonnet accompanied her.
The elderly lady's gaze remained straight ahead, her expression tinged with a hint of arrogance, as she headed straight for the secluded courtyard at the rear of the inn. However, the young maiden by her side seemed to notice Qin Liusi and the others' gazes. Upon seeing Qi Qian, she whispered something in the elderly lady's ear.
The elderly lady appeared startled, and following the maiden's indication, she looked over. Upon spotting Qi Qian, she immediately walked over.
