Chapter 25 - 025 What about the parents' heart of the promised doctor?

"A hundred taels for the consultation fee!"

Not to mention the old doctor who was already prepared to sneak away, even the onlookers gasped in cold air. This, this is simply too expensive!

Look at this young lad, just feeling the pulse, inserting a needle, prescribing medication, without even the time for a cup of tea, and demanding a hundred taels for the consultation fee.

This, this is downright extortion!

In the city, even the doctors from the most prestigious Saint Yuan Hall, known for their expensive fees, don't charge this much. Yet this young lad dares to demand such a sum.

Mr. Qian was also startled. Though he was wealthy, it was through hard work in business, not windfalls. Could this young lad intentionally be making outrageous demands?

But it was he who promised a generous reward. Businesspeople value integrity the most. Although Mr. Qian felt he was being overcharged, he wouldn't compromise his integrity for a hundred taels.

Besides, he still had some questions to ask.

From his purse, Mr. Qian took out a hundred-tael silver note and handed it to Qin Liusi. "Sir, saving my mother deserves this fee, but may I ask, since one should not trouble two masters, could you also provide a thorough examination for my mother's health?"

Qin Liusi took the silver note without even glancing at it and handed it directly to Chenpi beside her. "Mr. Qian is straightforward. That's good. But your concerns are not just about Mrs. Qian's health, are they?"

Mr. Qian's heart skipped a beat. Thinking of her earlier casual inquiry and seeing his mother's complexion visibly improve, he pursed his lips and said somewhat heavily, "To be frank, my wife is currently pregnant and has been feeling unwell lately. After consulting doctors for over a month without improvement, she decided to visit the temple for blessings, but then this incident happened."

"You've come to the right person. You've encountered me at the right time. If your lady cannot rest peacefully, this will affect her health and that of her offspring. If this calamity is averted, the fate of future generations will also change."

Mr. Qian widened his eyes. "How did you know?" Without waiting for Qin Liusi's response, he hurriedly asked, "Could you please visit our residence to diagnose and treat my wife?"

"Well..." Qin Liusi's thumb and forefinger rubbed together.

Mr. Qian, being well-versed in social affairs, hurriedly interjected, "If you can cure my wife's condition, not to mention a hundred taels, even a thousand taels for the consultation fee, I, Qian, am willing to pay."

He had prayed for years for this child and couldn't afford any mishaps. A thousand taels would still be considered low if both mother and child were safe. Even if it meant depleting his fortune, he was willing to do it.

Qin Liusi smiled faintly. "May I know the address of your residence?"

Mr. Qian hastily gave his address.

Qin Liusi nodded and noted it down. "I will visit your residence tomorrow morning."

Mr. Qian, in gratitude, bowed and said, "I will personally await you."

Qin Liusi waved her hand. "The elderly lady should not stay outdoors for long. Drink the medicinal soup and return to the city."

Mr. Qian bowed again and respectfully saw her off.

As Qin Liusi walked towards the carriage amidst the directions of the crowd, she suddenly felt someone throw themselves in front of her, with a heavy thud, raising a cloud of dust that tickled her nose.

The person was about to raise their hand. "Doctor, help me..."

Qin Liusi simply stepped over their hand, not even giving them a glance.

A drama queen, wasting her time!

Ying Nan: "!"

What happened to the Hippocratic Oath?

Cold-blooded, isn't she!

"Dare I ask, sir, are you not seeking medical assistance?"

As Qin Liusi was about to step onto the carriage, she heard a question from beside her ear and turned her head to see a pair of profound eyes.
