Chereads / Star Wars: Senator / Chapter 36 - Meeting the fleet

Chapter 36 - Meeting the fleet

In the Yag'Dhul system, a monstrous presence was positioned.

Facing down on the red and black colored planet, the planet of the mathematic species named Givin.

7 large crafts towered over the rest, symbolizing their position as the core of the monstrous presence.

Each of them is longer than 600 meters long, 2 of them a measly 600 meters, 5 of them close a kilometer long, 4 of them 825 meters long, and the last a whooping 1 648 meters long.

The ones at the small but still sizeable 600 meters were the class known as the Gladiator-Class Star Destroyer, barely carrying 12 light turbo lasers, 10 medium laser cannons, and 10 missile launchers.

However, what stood out was its hangar in the middle.

Going from the front, reminiscing of the once great Harrower-Class Dreadnaught, the hangar traveled for about 200 meters into the ship before stopping, allowing it to carry a total of 70 Alpha-V Wing Starfighters.

The Gladiator-Class Star Destroyer had a shield rating of 2600 SBD and a Hull rating of 1125 RU.

The Venator-Class Star Destroyer and the Victory-Class Star Destroyer had a shield rating of 3200 SBD and a Hull rating of 1520 RU.

The T-65 X-wing had an SBD rating of 50 and a RU rating of 20.

Meanwhile, the 4 ships being 825 meters long were of the Munificent-Class Star Frigate. It was a scrawly design of a capital ship, but it had strong forward hull shields, but it was extremely weak to enemy fighters and flanking maneuvers.

The Munificent was the complete opposite to that of the Gladiator, it had strong naval power output, with 2 large forward Heavy turbo lasers, capable of cutting down 400 SU Hull rating in one shot, and about 600 in SBD Shield rating.

It also had 13 DBY-827 Heavy Turbolasers, 20 light laser turrets, 26 medium laser turrets, 12 Heavy Flak Cannons, and 40-point defense turrets. However, it could barely carry 40 fighters in its hangars and even then it was bad space.

The Munificent had a shield rating of 3400 SBD, however, its hull rating was a measly 600, being carried by the 300 forward shields. The body had barely 300 RU in hull rating.

Lastly, the ship is towering a total of 1600 meters in length, 302 meters in height, and 588 meters in width. With an acceleration of 3600 G's and 975 km/h at top speed. With a total of 10 engines, supporting this monstrosity of a ship. The shielding was an unimaginable 3600, just short of the Imperial Star Destroyers on 4000. It also had a hull rating of 1723.

A total of 3 hangars, one forward like the Gladiator, and 2 on each side of the bridge. Behind a protected wedge.

The bridge consisted of 2 ( Yes ik its only 1 ) different towers, one main tower and one focused on Starfighter coordination. It was without a doubt the strongest ship in the fleet.

The hangar is a monstrosity in the Galaxy, going through the entire ship to the back hangars, meaning it went from the Bridges to the end of the ship.

The result of this design is that it can carry a whooping 240 Alpha-V Wing Starfighters and deploy them all within 3 minutes. It could also carry 60 H6 Bombers.

It carried 22 DBY-827 Heavy Turbolasers cannons, 8 medium dual turbolasers, 50-point defense cannons, and 8 Heavy proton torpedo launchers.

On the forward deck, there were 3 lines. The 2 lines furthest away from the bridge included 1 DBY-827 Heavy Dual Turbolaser each, the 2 lines closest to the bridge included 4 Medium turbo lasers each, while the forward included 2 extra DBY-827 Heavy Dual Turbolasers.

Then on an elevated platform between the bridge and the line closest to the bridge, there stood another DBY-827 Heavy Dual Turbolaser, and right behind that, inside a small holed-out part of the Hull, there were another 2 DBY-827 Turbolasers, with only the tubes of each turbolaser showing.

Currently, a total of 7 DBY-827 Turbolasers have been shown, then furthermore on the backward wing, similar to that of the Venator there stood 3 DBY-827 Turbolasers on each wing, forming 6 in total.

Then between the forward deck and the wings, there were 2 outpushed boxes, standing out from the main building, inside those there were 2 DBY-827 Heavy Turbolasers in each outpushed platform, a total of 4.

Now lastly, at the front of the ship there was a slight space where the Starfighters would come out from the hangar, on top of that forward hangar there were another 2 DBY-827 Heavy Dual Turbolasers, functioning as protection to the starfighters.

A total of 19 DBY-827 Heavy Dual Turbolasers are on the top of the Valiant-Class Star Destroyer.

Then on the underside, there was also a defensive line, going a bit into the ship, similar to the other lines.

It was positioned vertically to the first line, at the forward end of the ship.

Inside that there was a single DBY-827 in the middle, and one DBY-827 at the end of each line. Forming a capable defense of the Star Destroyer's underside.

On the Star Destroyer's lowest point were 4 proton torpedo tubes pointing forward. There were also positioned 2 proton torpedo launchers on the left and right walls of the forward hangar each, a total of 4 proton torpedo launchers.

In each of the lines, there were positioned 8 8-point defense turrets, providing a good forward and underside defense against Star Fighters. A total of 40 Point Defense Turrets.

There were also 5-point defense cannons on each side of the main body, under the bridge, a total of 10-point defense cannons. Filling all 50 positions.

That's when a disturbance filled the space above Yag'Dhul as a new ship arrived, it was confirmed as the newly created Lambda shuttle, being completely white.

A squadron of V-wings flew forward the newly arrived ship, escorting it towards the fleet.

I was sitting In the cockpit. Behind the 2 pilots, I overlooked my fleet.

It was magnificent.

The Valiant-Class Star Destroyer was on point, being the forward ship and serving as the vanguard. The ship is now officially named Dauntless.

On each of the sides stood the Gladiant-Star Destroyers. As our 2nd strongest Fighter carrier, it has forward hangars, allowing it to release the pilots upon arrival the fastest.

The Munificents then formed a wedge formation behind the Gladiators, 2 on each side of the Munificent. Performing a perfectly capable wedge.

However, that was not all, a swarm of smaller ships was shown on the radar, though hard to see they were undoubtedly there.

Above the main wedge formation, there were 10 Cumulus-Class Corsairs, a total of 10 of them.

They had a different formation, forming up 2 lines. The first line was about 4 Corsairs, and the second line, which was behind and a bit above the first line, allowing it to overlook the battle was a line of 6 Cumulus Corsairs.

The Cumulus Corsairs were positioned above the battle due to the fact they had 14 Laser turrets on the ventral side of their ship. ( under )

Now onto Carrack.

The Carrack-class Light Cruiser served as both anti-cruiser and anti-starfighters, based on their complement. It could either be equipped with 20 ion cannons or 20 light laser turrets, which is the compliment they have now. However, they also have 10 Heavy Turbolaser batteries.

Each central wedge formation was given 2 Carrack-Class Light Cruisers, except the 2 Munificents in the back of each wing, forming the wedge. Those 2 were transferred to the Valiant, as it served a more important purpose.

And behind that again there were 16 DP20s and 200 Z-95 Headhunters.

They were formed up in an interesting formation, with 4 DP20s in the front with 50 Z-95 Headhunters on each of the DP20s. With another 12 DP20s in the back.

This was due to my choice of attack.

There was a high chance of them expecting our attack, but I doubt they'd be prepared enough to launch all fighters.

The truth is that it'll take long to launch 9000 fighters, no matter how programmed they are.

So I planned to deal with an early strike. I would have 50 fighters on each DP20, which would be barely enough to cover them all.

We will then launch all of them at the hangar, attempting to pin them down at the one entrance, and launch bomb runs, they do not have any point defense cannons so we should be able to do that.

We will then have them retreat with the DP20s covering them.

"This is Lambda Shuttle 2412 of the Veridian Royal Guards. We are carrying the bacta tank." The pilot said and I smiled. Alexander had made a cover name for me as the bacta tank, due to me being the source of our entire wealth.

"You have permission to land on the 2nd side hangar on the VSD Dauntless ( Valiant-Star Destroyer )" A voice came back and the pilot didn't even acknowledge It, simply flying towards the hangar.

As we arrived I saw 200 men waiting for me, and a certain Lord Commandant.

I quickly recognized them as the Sovereign Guards, due to their force staff.

"Time for you to reunite." I told Jon and Robb. Who passed the great news to the 10 other guards I had with me from the start.

I never really used them, they just guarded the ship, then the shuttle, and lastly Santo.

"HRRRRRRRRRR," Santo said as we arrived, he was staring at the troops, likely due to their discipline. Far surpassing even the Senate Guards.

They stood completely still, with their arm outstretched, it didn't even shake.

The ramp slowly opened, as my soldiers in unison saluted without even seeing me.

Wow. Alexander surely had run them hard.

And with that, I stood up from my chair and walked towards the ramp.

Santo, Jon, Robb, and the 10 guards followed me. Walking in a double column with Santo in the back, Rob and Jon leading each column.

As I walked up to the guards, I noticed the person leading them.

In front of me stood General Tyr, Admiral Jaime, and Lord Commandant Alexander. All the 3 Military Oversight of the Veridian Military.

I shook each of their hands, General Tyr putting too much force into it.

As we began walking, the troops put down their salute and dispersed. No need to have 200 guards on my own ship. However, 20 did follow us.

"How's it going?" I asked Admiral Jaime.

"My Lord, the Z-95 Pilots switch between entering the DP20s, CR-90s, Munificent, Gladiator, and Veridian ships, entering emergency doors by connecting their ship. But barely 50 can be held at once. It's starting to exhaust them as we've been here for 25 hours." He said and I nodded. It made sense.

"We'll head for Wroona immediately and then take the Kira Route to Naboo." I said and he nodded.

"However, make sure we switch our 60 bombers onboard the VSD Dauntless when we reach Inusagi, which is the last stop on the route." I said and he nodded. "We'll launch a bomb strike immediately, as their ship doesn't have a hyperdrive nor capable of flying for long they all have to be within the hangar." I said again and his face beamed, understanding my reason.

"It will be done, Your Grace." He said and I nodded,

"General Tyr, has Senior Commander Thorne been sent to Naboo?" I asked and he responded.

"Aye, he left 1 and a half days ago on a CR-90 Corvette specially fitted to become a blockade runner." He said and I nodded, this was the best way to transport him safely.

And that was when we entered the bridge, it was quite unique.

It was essentially that of a Venator bridge, however it had a few small changes.

The Starfighters bridge was exactly the same as a normal venator bridge. However, the main bridge, while extremely similar it had a few changes.

The main one was the fact that there were multiple stations, on the walls and beneath as well.

The small platform under the main one was larger, as it included a lot more firing seats.

However it also had a third platform, it was behind the 2 forward ones, between the Holocomms table and the forward see-through metal forming the bridge.

It had a small bridge capable of 2 men going side by side over it, but it had the ability to go under that small bridge.

This extra was meant for purely hyperdrive travel, so that one could perform perfect jumps and coordination. Every single ship had at least 5 hyperdrive workers, working overtime to make sure we could jump in formation.

Due to our large formation of support ships and extra fighters, there was a high chance of some ships hitting each other as they exited hyperspace.

Especially when we needed to jump so close to the Lucrehulks to catch them unaware. This required multiple men to coordinate every single ship and use spy droids to coordinate the coordinates for the jump.

I went to the front of the bridge, so that I could see forward.

"Jump to the Wroona system." I said and we had to wait 1 minute for the hyperspace specialists to inform the already pre-documented jumps and lock onto our jump code.

But soon enough, my sight was blasted by streams of blue light.
