A blinding flash of light erupted from the center of the chamber as Edgar's attack collided with George's body.
Keitaro could feel as if the air around them was shaking, he had a soft smile on his face upon realizing that the boy was making progress.
A lot of progress actually, he was quite proud.
As the light subsided, the chamber was filled with a thick, choking smoke.
Keitaro waited patiently for the smoke to clear, his eyes being fixated at the center of the chaos. When the smoke finally cleared, he was met with a rather surprising sight.
George stood in the chamber of the shamble with a single shallow cut on his chest. The wound however was quickly healing probably due to reverse curse energy.
However, the small cut on George's chest did prove that Edgar's blow had landed.
This result was to be expected as even suppressed at the end of the day, George was a special grade curse and Edgar was nowhere near that level yet.
Even after suppressing George by a decent margin, Edgar did not manage to deal a significant amount of damage.
However, that was ok, after all, Edgar had proved himself and had managed to wound the curse on multiple occasions.
This was something to be proud of, Keitaro's eyes eventually went to Edgar, the boy lay on the floor, unconscious, his body limp. His curse energy reserves were depleted, and his physical strength had reached its limits.
"Young master are you okay!?" The butler's voice was heard saying as he rushed toward Edgar and started looking very worried about his lord son's current position.
Keitaro's eyes remained focused on George while the butler was seen looking at the injury on the boy.
Keitaro walked toward Edgar, he then slowly lowered himself to the boy's level.
"...did..i...do..good..!" The boy's voice sounded quite weak as he looked at Keitaro.
Keitaro patted the boy's head before saying.
"You did great!"
Edgar's face seemed to light up as a content smile made itself known to his face.
"I..am..glad..!"
Keitaro took out a small pill from his bag, he then fed the boy the pill, Edgar accepted the pills without hesitating for a second.
As he did so, the butler watched in amazement as the wounds on the boy's body seemed to heal.
He watched as the boy's energy reserve seemed to be shooting up to new levels.
'So the natural energy boosts the property of the plant' Keitaro thought to himself as he saw the reaction the pill had on the boy's body.
He was quite glad with his findings.
Keitaro then stood up before walking toward the curse, not once even trying to take his sword that was currently sealed inside a seal.
Not even once trying to pull out the tanto on his back, he just walked toward the cursed spirit, he had some questions to ask it.
"Do you believe Edgar is the same as the people who imprisoned you?" Keitaro asked, his voice calm and measured.
He wanted to know the inner workings of this curse spirit, he didnt seem that bad compared to another curse.
George's eyes narrowed, its anger and frustration evident. "They share the same blood," it growled. "That is enough for me."
'so the hatred runs deep' Keitaro thought to himself as he looked at the creature, he had not expected that the hatred of one person could run so deep in someone but oh well, it was a bit expected considering all the stuff that the Alistair family had done.
However, he did not really agree with the violent approach, what someone's ancestors did should not really affect their descent, and a kid shouldn't get bullied just because his parents were murderers.
Blaming a kid for the mistake of his parents is not something healthy for the child's psyche and the child may try to gain the attention he so craved and desires through other means that may not be considered good.
The child may even go the same path as his parents as his/her whole life, the only route that he was presented was to become that.
Keitaro shook his head. "Blood does not define a person, George. Actions do. Edgar has shown you mercy, even when he had the chance to end your life. Does that sound like the actions of someone who wishes you harm?"
Wish wasn't a lie, the boy could have killed the curse if he had chosen to press the button, the curse energy amount would have sent Rct through the cursed body and destroyed 75% of its brain.
The curse spirit was silent, its mind clearly racing. It had witnessed firsthand the compassion and strength of the young sorcerer.
Keitaro continued his little talk, his voice was gentle but firm. "You have suffered greatly, George. But vengeance is not the answer. It will only lead to more suffering."
"I have to kill them, I want them to feel the same way they made me feel all those years back!" George's voice was filled with a lot of venom.
"And then what? What do you think comes after you murder Edgar, do you think Alistair is just going to sit down and twindle his thumb, by you doing this action you basically doomed every that lives in this town? Do you think Alistair will stop after you perish?"
"He will turn this whole town into a ghost town to make sure something like this does not happen again, is this really wanted? After that the hatred accumulated from all the senseless murders would create another powerful curse and the cycle of hatred would repeat itself again"
Keitaro's eyes looked at the curse, he knew at the bare minimum the curse wasn't dumb.
He would see some truth to his words.
"Let go of your hatred, go rejoin your family on the other side, I am sure Joceline is still waiting for you on the other side"
Keitaro offered the curse a warm smile as what seemed to be the image of a woman was seen appearing behind the curse.
