Chapter 146 - Swordmanship {146}

Keitaro turned his attention toward his student. With a critical look on his face, he assessed the boy's stance and grip.

It had been about 30 minutes ever since the boy showed him his curse tool and not even 5 minutes later he was already training the boy in the art of swordmanship.

Luckily for Keitaro, the boy already had the basics down so all he had to do was jump to improve on what the boy already knew about swordsmanship.

It shouldn't be that hard considering all the information that Keitaro had access to.

"Let's start with the basics"

Even though Keitaro knew the boy had some basic down, he wanted to make sure that the boy's foundation were solid and not just, well huh, hot garbage.

He wanted to make sure that the boy had an incredibly solid formation.

"The sword is an extension of your body, a conduit for your will. That is why having the proper stance is crucial."

"Yes"

Keitaro watched as the boy obediently listened to him and started doing what he had asked of him, Keitaro watched as the boy showed his stance.

It was all wrong, the stand was a bit too stiff, and this wasn't good for a swordsman.

A swordsman is not supposed to have such a stiff and limiting stance, the boy's feet were too close to each other and his knees were bent a bit too much.

The boy's body weight was mostly distributed to the left side of his body and nothing more.

"Let me give you an example"

As those words left his mouth, he demonstrated a basic stance, his feet were about shoulder-width apart, his knees were slightly bent and his body was evenly distributed throughout his body.

"Your back should be straight, your shoulders relaxed. This is your foundation. Everything else builds from here."

Keitaro's eyes look at the young boy next to him before opening his mouth and saying.

"You got that"

Edgar walked closer to Keitaro, making sure to make an imprint of Keitaro's current stance in his mind.

He made sure to analyze everything before he started to mirror Keitaro's stance, he seemed to be deep within the concentration, and his breathing seemed a bit erratic but apart from that he looked to be rather fine.

"Like this?" The boy asked looking quite uncertain as he looked at his teacher.

He wanted to impress his sensei even more and thus he decided to push himself to his utter limit every single time he trained with his teacher.

Keitaro stood up and got out of his stance, he walked all around the boy looking at his stance.

The boy's stance was alright for the most part, it looked to be pretty solid, and he didnt have any heavy criticism about it.

"Good, but remember, your stance should be fluid, and adaptable to any situation. You must be ready to move in any direction at a moment's notice."

"Like this"

As those words left the boy's mouth, Keitaro could visibly see the boy standing relaxed to something a little more relaxed and fluid, something that was less stiff than his earlier attempts.

He smiled a bit before looking at Edgar's grip on his sword. "Your hand should be relaxed, but firm. Your fingers should cradle the hilt, allowing for maximum control and maneuverability."

He wasn't spouting out bullshit, the boy's grip on the blade was too loose and thus he just wanted for the boy to have a tighter grip on the blade.

The worst thing he would want to happen is for someone to take his blade away from him, losing your sword in the middle of a fight is a very sorry way to go and Keitaro did not want that for his student.

Keitaro started to demonstrate the proper way to hold the sword to his students.

Keitaro glided his hand smoothly across the hilt of the sword as Edgar watched intently trying his hardest to mimic Keitaro's movement.

"Now, the basic strikes," Keitaro added as he continued to show the boy the basics. "The downward slash, the upward slash, the horizontal slash. These are the fundamentals. But remember, a sword is not just about power, it's about precision and timing."

Keitaro moved with deceptive speed, his strikes were sharp and accurate. Edgar watched everything with eyes that were filled with admiration and just a hint of fear.

The way his teacher held the blade and swung it around made the blade look so much deadlier than he ever could.

"Try to mimic my movements," Keitaro added looking at his pupil. "Focus on the fluidity of your movements, the balance of your body. Remember, a sword is an extension of yourself. Think of it as an extra limb"

Keitaro watched as his student started mimicking his move over and over again, the boy seemed determined in order to replicate the swordsmanship that was shown to him.

"Mas_"

"Sensei will do just fine"

"Sensei, how did you learn to wield a sword?"

'how the heck am I suppose to tell this kid, I learn my basic from Youtube videos and reading a shit tone of books'

"I had a very good teacher"

Was all Keitaro replied.

"I want to meet him!"

The boy said sounding excited.

"Chances are, you probably did, he is quite a known individual you might say"

Keitaro had a wry smile as he said those words.

"Really!?"

The boy had stars in his eyes as he said those words

"Yes"

A/N....Flashback.

"Aw man, I really need a teacher to teach me how to use a sword!"

Keitaro looks just a bit frustrated.

"You know YouTube is a thing right?"

Keitaro looked at Satoru who was seen leaning back on his chair.

"You want me to learn how to use a sword from YouTube?"

"I don't see why not, it's not like it will be your first time!"

Gojo had a teasing look on his face as he said those words.

"What do you mean by that?"

Keitaro looks just a bit annoyed.

"You are already a secondhand Minato, so I don't think it will make a difference if you learn it that way!"

*Crack*

"Aw, such a big temper from someone so weak"

Gojo had a smile on his face as Keitaro's punch was stopped mear inches from his face due to the infinity
