Idrus paced around the living room, frustration evident in his voice. "Why are they taking so long? It's been hours since they've been gone, they're supposed to be back." Soren, unfazed, continued snacking on the apple he had picked up from the kitchen, meeting Idrus' gaze as he chewed.
"My lord, I'm sure they will come back soon," Soren reassured, but Idrus' stare made him falter, prompting him to look down.
Just then, energy crackled and Gabrielle appeared in the center of the living room. "Where did you go? You just up and left without telling us," Soren said, his anger evident as he looked at Gabrielle.
Gabrielle shot him a disdainful look before snapping, "Just be quiet and focus on your fruit." He then shifted his attention to Idrus, his expression clouded with a frown.
"Your presence is requested by the high elders, my lord," Gabrielle informed him, causing Soren to drop the apple he was munching on in surprise.
