"Miss, miss, we've arrived!" The driver exclaimed, causing Melissa to startle awake. She rubbed her eyes and gazed at the elderly driver's face, offering a smile. Confusion clouded her mind as she searched for her purse, only to realize she was holding it. Hastily, she retrieved some dollar bills and handed them to the driver, who grinned appreciatively.
With her bag slung over her shoulder, Melissa stepped out of the cab in front of the building that had become her temporary home during the search for Iridessa. It had served as a refuge for everyone involved in the mission.
Just as she was about to head towards the entrance, the driver called out to her. "Hey miss, you forgot your change." Without turning back, she replied, "You can keep it," and continued towards the imposing structure.
"Thank you, miss!" the driver shouted as he drove off, leaving Melissa to make her way inside.
