"It's been 48 hours and still no sign of her." Idrus snarled and then lashed out, kicking the couch so hard it crashed into the wall." Gabrielle and Kragen exchanged a look, then turned their attention to the unfortunate piece of furniture.
"We've combed the shadow lands and every corner of our realm, my lord, but she's nowhere to be found," Gabrielle reported, running a hand through his hair in frustration. He knew Idrus was on edge not just because they couldn't locate his mate, but also because the ring was preventing him from leaving the human realm. It was pushing him to the brink.
"Damn it, the ring isn't even giving me any signals. It always used to alert me when Indriana was in danger or pain, but now it's silent," Idrus exclaimed, driving his hand into the wall.
"Where are Indiana and Rafael? What have they found out?" Gabrielle was about to speak, but Kragen beat him to it.
