Asmodeus agreed, "Yes, yes, I'll get more." He turned around and confidently walked towards the table where the jug was placed. Iridessa gazed at his broad back, wiped her eyes, and watched as he filled the cup with water before returning to her.
Handing her the cup, Iridessa managed a small smile, took it from him, and drank until her thirst was quenched. She then handed the cup back to him, saying, "Thank you."
He nodded and inquired, "Want more.?"
Iridessa hesitated before declining, "No, thank you." Asmodeus returned to the table, placed the cup down, and then strode back towards her.
Before she could stop herself, the question that had been on Iridessa's mind since Asmodeus had spoken to her slipped out, "Why are you being kind to me?"
