On the other side, Candice was still bouncing on the large bed, while Jin Muchen carefully opened the cardboard box, revealing the three table lamps inside.
The lamps were covered in dust, appearing quite dilapidated at first glance.
Each lamp had a unique design, though it was difficult to discern their craftsmanship and materials through the thick layer of dust. However, Jin Muchen could tell they were undoubtedly valuable upon handling them.
As he picked one up, he felt its weight. The material of the lamp base was indiscernible, but it was evident that the base was rusted, with some damage to the lampshade.
Both the lampshade and base were covered in dust, indicating they had been abandoned here for some time. To most people, these would appear as worthless junk.
However, Jin Muchen knew better than to judge them so quickly. Despite their appearance, these lamps held potential value, a fact he embraced.
The closer he looked, the clearer it became that the lampshades emitted a continuous golden glow. With his experience in spotting treasures, Jin Muchen recognized this as a stroke of luck, having stumbled upon not just one, but three valuable finds.
"Hey! What are you looking at, Muchen? It's getting late. Let's quickly move these things!" Candice, who had appeared by Jin Muchen's side at some point, inquired. Observing the rusty lamp in Jin Muchen's hand, she couldn't help but furrow her brows.
"What's this junk?" she asked.
"Hehe, I'm not sure. I just think they'd look beautiful once cleaned up!" Jin Muchen replied.
"Beautiful? Keep them for yourself then! These things give off such a creepy vibe and a strange smell," Candice remarked, holding her nose.
Candice's skepticism was understandable. The lamps indeed appeared unimpressive at first glance, with a musty odor lingering around them.
"Hehe, alright, if you don't want them, I'll keep them. Perhaps with some repair, they'll serve a purpose. Let's go, we should head back to Harvey's place first. I remember they have a pickup truck in their garage. We can borrow it to haul the items you've picked out," Jin Muchen suggested.
With the evening growing late and Jin Muchen feeling homesick, he was also eager to uncover the origin of these three lamps.
In Candice's curious gaze, Jin Muchen exited the garage with the cardboard box containing the three lamps.
Suddenly, a sharp cry echoed from afar, startling both Candice and Jin Muchen.
Looking up, they noticed a car parked at the entrance of the villa, with a figure beside it, frantically gesturing.
Seeing the disgruntled figure, Candice couldn't help but stifle a laugh beside Jin Muchen, who was perplexed.
"What are you laughing at?" he asked. Candice, with a mischievous smile resembling a fox caught stealing, replied, "Go see for yourself."
The two walked towards the car. Motion-sensitive lights illuminated the villa's front, revealing the irritating Johnny standing next to a Mercedes-Benz.
The car, a black Mercedes S600, known for its elegance and grandeur, now appeared pitiful. Its black paint was scratched all over, and all four tires were deflated. It was no wonder Johnny was furious.
A Mercedes was renowned for its expensive maintenance, and the scratches alone would cost thousands to repair. Not to mention the deflated tires, replacing the standard Mercedes tires would also incur significant expenses. It seemed Johnny was in for a hefty bill this time.
Seeing Johnny's plight, along with Candice's earlier mysterious smile and her sudden departure claiming to use the restroom, Jin Muchen quickly pieced together the situation.
Looking at Candice, who was cheekily smiling up at him, Jin Muchen couldn't resist pinching her nose. In response, Candice playfully took his finger into her mouth, sending a warm sensation through Jin Muchen.
"You bastard, was this your doing?" Johnny, who had turned around, caught sight of Jin Muchen and Candice flirting. Unable to contain his anger, he approached them.
Considering who could have targeted his car so ruthlessly, Jin Muchen was the only person he had crossed paths with today.
However, before he could reach Jin Muchen, his head buzzed, his ears filled with a symphony, and darkness enveloped him as he collapsed to the ground. When he finally regained consciousness, all he could see were stars, and his nose felt like it had been through a dyeing process.
"How dare you hit me?" Johnny struggled to get up, but before he could even lift himself, a forceful kick sent him tumbling forward, knocking out two teeth and leaving him with a mouthful of blood.
"Hit you? I even kicked you. So what?" Jin Muchen stood before Johnny, his arms crossed, his demeanor icy. With the night falling and the villa's grounds deserted, there was no need to fear the consequences of their altercation. Having tolerated Johnny for too long, Jin Muchen didn't mind a little trouble if it meant teaching him a lesson.
Struggling to stand, Johnny saw Jin Muchen's cold expression and immediately extinguished his raging anger. Facing Jin Muchen's towering figure and recalling the force of his previous blow, Johnny's fiery temper was doused with cold water.
"You bastard, your foul mouth precedes you. If you keep spouting nonsense, I'll teach you a lesson. As for your car, its condition is a reflection of your character. Who knows if someone you've offended did this? If you dare blame me, I'll have my lawyer on your tail," Jin Muchen pointed a finger at Johnny's face, his spit flying as he spoke. Though Johnny was cowed, Jin Muchen continued his tirade, not giving him a chance to retaliate.
Realizing he was in no position to fight back against Jin Muchen's formidable stature, Johnny remained silent, resembling a meek grandson.
Jin Muchen had encountered many like him before, so his behavior wasn't surprising.
Meanwhile, Johnny was calculating his next move. Standing at a mere 1.7 meters tall and weighing just over 100 pounds, he knew he stood no chance against Jin Muchen, who was nearly 1.9 meters tall and close to 200 pounds. Confronting Jin Muchen head-on would only lead to his own defeat, so he chose to endure.
Seeing Johnny's spineless demeanor, Jin Muchen had no intention of continuing the confrontation. With Johnny intimidated, there was no point in further provocation. Jin Muchen hoisted the cardboard box and, with Candice by his side, cheerfully made their way to Harvey's house.
As the motion-sensitive lights in the yard gradually dimmed, the two figures disappeared into the distance, leaving Johnny still sprawled on the ground. With a resentful glare at their retreating backs, he muttered, "You'll pay for this."
Attempting to get up, Johnny stumbled again, the fear Jin Muchen instilled in him and the force of his blow leaving his legs numb.
Watching Johnny's humiliating fall, Jin Muchen and Candice, hearing the commotion behind them, turned back to witness Johnny sprawled out on the ground once more, prompting them to burst into laughter.
"How did you know it was his Mercedes?" After leaving the Bentley estate, Jin Muchen couldn't contain his curiosity and asked Candice.
Candice raised her small fist triumphantly. "Because that guy seems so afraid of being unnoticed. He deliberately left the key to his Mercedes exposed in his pocket. Heh, I took a stroll outside, and it seemed like there was only one Mercedes in the entire yard. If we were to scratch anything, why not that?"
Jin Muchen was surprised by Candice's boldness.
"Aren't you afraid of him calling the police?" he inquired.
"Haha, what's there to fear? I scoped out the yard; there are no security cameras. Plus, as you said, that guy has offended so many people with his foul mouth. Who knows if it's someone else seeking revenge? And besides, do you think the police would bother with such a trivial matter?" Candice said confidently.
Seeing Candice's assured demeanor, Jin Muchen grew fonder of her. Unable to resist, he pulled her close and planted a kiss on her lips...
