Victor slowly opened his eyes, groggily taking in his surroundings. He was met with an unfamiliar ceiling, and his mind foggy, he struggled to recall how he got there. As he sat up, he braced himself for the pain to hit, expecting his body to scream in protest. But to his surprise, he moved his hands freely, rubbing the sleep from his eyes without any discomfort.
Victor's gaze darted around the room, and his eyes widened as he realized he wasn't in an unfamiliar space after all. But it was the sight of Joel and Mark's bodies on the floor that made his heart race and memories come flooding back. He remembered the fight, the briefcase, and the feeling of his world spinning out of control.
"Fuck," he muttered, as he hauled himself to his feet. Again, he was surprised to find that he felt no pain, no ache, no soreness. It was as if his body had been restored to its optimal state, leaving him feeling eerily numb.
