Her heart broke to the sound of his silent wails. His shoulder vibrated as he cried underneath his breath
"No no no" Dominique muttered to himself.
She got closer to him causing him to turn, lifting his wet teary eyes to meet hers "Leave me alone" He commanded, his voice breaking as he spoke
"I don't think I'd forgive myself if I left you alone while you were a visible mess" She said to him as she took a seat beside him
"It's all my fault" He said as he wiped the tears from his eyes "We could've left when he said we should. If I had listened he wouldn't be in that damn bed fighting for his life" He said as he balled his fist, punching the ground with all the might he could muster
