Gesine's Pov:
Ever since I met this man, he gets stranger and stranger. It's like there's a hidden secret that he was hiding, something that didn't concern me since I have my own life.
At the beginning, I was just a traveler. That was until the old man, who eventually helped us tremendously, offered me a ride.
And that was the moment I saw this man, who later introduced himself as Cassius. From the moment he entered that carriage, it felt like the entire place was a bloody battlefield.
I looked at him and knew he was strong. He was a human with strange features, such as really dark purple hair and red eyes. I was cautious of him.
Until he introduced himself, "Hello, I'm Esm...," he took a quick pause, "Nice to meet you, I'm Cassius." Is this guy stupid or something? He's obviously using a different name and he copied a hero's name.
His eerie and powerful aura disappeared. Is this guy really stupid? That was what I thought before that incident occurred.
The group of lizards came, and knowing I was the only one capable of killing them, I took action. But I was too rash; I didn't completely eliminate them.
So he stepped up and looked at the lizards. I wondered what he was going to do, and that was when he used fire magic, but not a simple one; it was purple.
A purple flame. Then I remembered a past interaction with my family, "A purple ember will lead you. Follow him, but his hands will decide whether you and the world will live or die."
It was an old, nonsense prophecy that I thought was nonsense, so I didn't bother treating it like it was my fate. But that changed now.
I really had a serious gaze, but when I saw him touching a woman's chest, one word came to mind: 'pervert.' He is a pervert.
When we eventually arrived at the town and made our first stop, Cassius already wanted to explore the place. I wasn't going to let him go off on his own without work, so I told him to take the girl named Aveleen.
I wanted to help the old man anyway, so when we arrived at the spot where we were supposed to deliver the items, I helped carry some boxes.
"Isn't that cloak hot?" the old man asked me. It was indeed hot, so I decided to take it off, and as I did, the people passing by started looking at me.
I looked at the old man, but he was still working. He took a glance at me and asked, "Why are you stopping?"
"Oh, I'm sorry." Strange, he's not the type to be mesmerized by my beauty. He's the first man apart from my father who didn't look at me for my looks.
I was really happy, so I wanted to help the old man as much as I could, but happiness is temporary.
As I saw Cassius running towards me, I looked at him and he looked at me, his jaws dropped. I mean, what do you expect from a pervert? Then he started to ask the old man about where I was.
And when I told him I was Gesine, the girl he is currently looking at, his jaws dropped even more.
But when I asked him a question, "where's Aveleen?" He replied, "Let's talk about it after eating, okay?" He obviously lost her, but I want to see what kind of face he makes.
Then the old man took us to his house, which was really big, and told us to take a bath and dress up before eating.
So I took a bath and headed towards the closet. It was really big, the same as a usual bedroom, and I found a dress that really suited me, so I picked it.
There was a slight incident in the closet room, but it was handled safely.
We ate at a fancy place; it was really luxurious. The place was made for the royal family. But what is a restaurant of this quality doing in a town like this?
I paid no mind and ordered whatever I wished, and the old man smiled; it was his approval.
But eventually, a few days later, we had to leave, and it was on that day that I learned the old man's name, Artor.
Artor, that's a name I will surely remember.
We left the town and had a few conflicts with demons, and I managed to win a duel with my secret weapon. call that fight quick, but it was a death match.
And now here we are, back on the path and heading towards the holy empire's capital, a journey while I decide to stick with Cassius or not.
