I had the roughest night of my life. The floor was damn hard and cold, and Gesine was freaking snoring!
For a beautiful lady, she does snore a lot, and it was loud, like really loud. I had to steal an extra pillow from her just to cover my ears.
"Cassius! Call Gesine down for breakfast!" The old man was kind enough to even prepare breakfast for us. We are really in his debt, and it's something I am willing to repay.
I called Gesine, and we had a nice breakfast. The old man was smiling every time we were together. I felt like we had a close bond in a span of 3 days.
Even Gesine opened up to the old man, but eventually, our time together will end. At this point, feelings must be ignored since we will part ways. And haven't I been calling him "old man" all the time?
I should really ask for his name as a sign of my respect and the debt that I owe him. But he was just busy the entire morning, and the only time we had was at breakfast, but he and Gesine were talking about stuff I don't really understand.
And it was still early in the morning. He sure is a busy dude, so I took my time and roamed around the town. We still have a few more hours until we leave.
Though I'm having mixed feelings about this place, it just feels comfortable when you're with someone you know.
And so I went towards the marketplace to get some stuff for the journey. Of course, I don't want to leech off the old man's wealth. I should at least provide for myself. I did ask Gesine to come with me, but she flat out refused.
She stayed in her room and cleaned her spear. She really loved that thing. Anyways, I grabbed a few things that I think would be necessary. It is bound to be a long trip.
First, we would cross a few smaller villages to enter the holy empire's territory. Then the big ones come up; large cities will be seen soon, but there will still be towns, just fewer.
As I looked at the stalls and shops, I bumped into a guy. He was wearing what looked like a school uniform, to be exact.
"Oh, I'm sorry," he apologized first.
"It's alright, I don't mind," I replied. Better leave this place asap. I quickly evaded the crowded place, but he still called for me.
"You're quite familiar, aren't you the..." Crap! Without any hesitation, I pushed the people around me and went back to the student.
I covered his mouth to shut him up. I looked at him with murderous intent, and sure enough, he was shivering. So, I dragged him to a dark and quiet place. I don't want anyone to hear this.
"Listen here, you chicken. Say my name and your entire bloodline will stop." I had a dagger with me, so I stabbed the wall behind him to give him a bit more fright.
"Should I just kill you? For the sake of the world, I think I should." Killing one dude wouldn't be a problem, right? It's just one person.
"What are you doing?" A voice came from behind; it was Gesine. She was holding her spear, aiming it towards me.
"You are scum after all." Ouch, that hurts. I did want to kill this man, but for now, I need an explanation for this situation.
"Wait I can explain this guy robbed someone and I just chased him to get back what was stolen", this is the weakest reason yet but please believe it. I patted the students back telling him to agree to my words or he dies.
"It's true and I'm sorry I'll give this back to the owner", I'm doomed this guy can't even act I'm about to get caught!
"I see", Gesine lowered her spear and punched the students face, "so your the scum" I did try to stop her but she looked at me with a pretty grumpy face so I just let her be.
After a few minutes of beating up the poor student she stopped, "that was refreshing let's grab some food"
The hell is wrong with this lady, "sure let's go", it would be better to just agree, "so why did you come here I thought you said you'd stay"
"The old man told me to go help you so I did"
After a few talks, we eventually headed back to the old man's house with the items that we bought, but it was silent. Doesn't this give a bit of a horror vibe?
Anyways, we went inside, and it was all dark. I saw that there was a room that had one light, so we went in there. I saw the old man sitting down like a boss.
"Two of you, come and sit."
Are we in trouble?
