I was about to go home but noticed that my wallet has gone missing, I plan to get back to the Cafe I went to buy bread for tomorrow's breakfast.
I drove back to the Cafe and was about to run on the table that I sat kanina.
"Are you looking for this?". Tanong ng isang babaeng naka salamin, hindi ko ito kilala yun ang akala ko ngunit ng mag alis ito ng salamin ay agad nanlaki ang mga mata ko."Long time no see".
FEW MINUTES LATER
Marie Antonella Gondola ang unang babae sa buhay ni Lexi, her ex. The same girl na naka pulot ng pitaka niya.
"How have you been?". The girl ask her.
"Fine". Lexi coldly answer.
As they exchanged hesitant conversation over a cup of coffee, Lexi and Marie danced around the unspoken truths that had long been buried beneath the surface. The weight of their shared history bore down on them, a silent reminder of the love, laughter, and heartache they had once shared.
"I'm going to get married son, In America with my American fiance. I'm just here to fetch my family". Navigating the tumult of conflicting emotions, Lexi found herself grappling with a whirlwind of feelings – hurt, betrayal, longing, and a flicker of hope that refused to be extinguished. The past collided with the present, stirring a storm within her that threatened to consume her fragile peace.
"That's good, your finally settling". Lexi said.
Marie's relationship with Lexi was hard, they had so many issues with each other and one of that was the cheating of Marie. Almost marry each other when Marie realize that she soon wants to have a kid of her own blood and she knows what Lexi couldn't give it to her. They broke up a week before their marriage that drastically broke Lexi's heart.
"How about you?". Marie asked.
Lexi smile before saying a word ". Finally happy with my relationship, finally in a healthy relationship". Marie eyes widened in surprise, a flicker of emotion crossing her face before she composed herself.
"I'm glad to hear that, Lexi. You deserve all the happiness in the world," she replied, her voice tinged with a mix of nostalgia and acceptance.
It feels just like yesterday when the two of them were planning about their marriage but now Lexi was in a happy relationship and Marie was finally about to marry the man of her dreams.
Despite the passage of time and the distance that had grown between them, there was a sense of closure in that moment, a silent acknowledgment of the paths they had chosen to walk.
As they parted ways, Lexi felt a sense of peace wash over her, a reassurance that the past was but a chapter in her story, not the entirety of it. With a final glance back at the café, she walked away, her heart lighter and her spirit renewed, ready to embrace the future that lay ahead.
And so, in the quiet corners of a coffee shop, two souls met again, not as lovers rekindling a flame, but as old friends bidding farewell to what once was, and embracing what could be.
