Mark, who had just landed inside the room with a nearly silent thump, looked up just in time to see the white cat raise its paw and bat at the unsuspecting fairy. Ariallaya curled up in a ball as its body somersaulted through the air, hitting the wall with a small thud.
He darted forward and made a grab at the cat, picking it up. The cat kicked its back paws in a bid to scratch its way out of Mark's hold. Mark was extremely grateful that the cat was declawed in the back paws. He then made his way to where Ariallaya had landed.
The small fairy stood up with a shake of its head. Its dark, ocean-blue hair swished around the air, flying about in every which direction, but it otherwise looked unhurt.
The cat chose that moment to sink its teeth into Mark's arm. Mark bit his tongue in a bid to keep silent, releasing the cat instantly.
