Samuel's POV
We arrived at Leafmight at 1:24 p.m. This young man opened the door and said to his passengers, "We're here, everyone. That'll be 3 gold coins, 7 silver coins, or 9 copper coins, please." And then, 5 passengers answered, paid the fare according to their current funds, and got off with their belongings. One of them was a child who was holding a simple rag doll. After that, I stood up and asked the young bus driver for his name.
"Oh, my name is Russell May," Russell responded back positively. "We haven't said our introductions first, right?"
"Yes, nice to meet you, Mr. May," I replied back solemnly while shaking his hand for a bit. "My name is Samuel Homer from Garion City."
Azalea and John then said their introductions of themselves to Samuel.
"Say," responded I back nicely to Russell, "what is your nationality back in your previous life, hmm?"
"Oh, I was a Filipino back then," Russell replied, "from the Bicol Region."
"Wow, that was amazing, Mr. May. A Filipino?"
"Yes, I died at the age of 16 while saving my mum from an oncoming truck."
I then felt sorry for him. "Oh, I am sorry for you."
"Don't worry about that," Russell responded, "I had moved on, and I am living a good life here."
Third person POV
Samuel was happy for him. "That's good, for how long ever since you were reincarnated?"
"Well, for about 1o months, I guess."
"How splendid! Just 10 months in this world, and you're that well-known? What do the people call you again? Was it…Bus Driver Hero?"
"Yes, that one, Samuel-san."
"Ah, okay, that's amazing of you."
Russell then smiled. "Thanks."
Later, after a bit of waiting, another 6 passengers boarded the bus, planning to go to Marewell Town. 5 of them seemed to be beachgoers. So, with that, Russell closed the door, and all of them left Leafmight for Marewell Town via a coastal, paved road. And then, at 1:36 p.m., the bus arrived at Marewell Town, and Russell opened the door and said his usual words upon arriving at his next destination. The fares set by him for this ride are 5 gold coins, 7 silver coins, and 9 copper coins, and 7 gold coins, 10 silver coins, or 12 copper coins for those who were from Garion City and Rossley. This time, all of the passengers onboard paid their fares according to their current funds and got off with their belongings, happy and positive that they had arrived at their destination in just a few hours.
After that, Russell counted his money and tossed them into his money box, before closing the box and locking it with its key. Samuel observed the amount of money Russell had in the box and was impressed by how he had managed to earn that much cash. Russell then said to him that his income varied every day. Samuel understood that, commenting, "So we're both self-employed."
"Yeah, that makes sense." Russell nodded in agreement.
Samuel then grabbed his toolbox and got off after paying his fare in the Garion City-originated variant of it.
The reincarnated plumber paid in silver coins, much to Russell's positive surprise.
"Also, do you want to come with me to my client's home and watch me do my work as a plumber, hmm?" Samuel asked Russell and his party.
"Sure!" Russell responded enthusiastically. "We would like to see that."
"That will be so exciting to see!" Azalea added.
John then nodded solemnly.
And so, Russell parked his bus somewhere and turned off its engine, before all of them got off and started walking towards the house of Samuel's client. Samuel was leading the way since he knew the person's address. After a little bit of searching, the group found the person's home, which was located near a coastal river that dumps its waters into the Marewell Bay. There Samuel knocked on the door, and someone, a young woman, opened the door.
"Good afternoon, ma'am," Samuel brightly said to her. "You must Mrs. Gariel, right? Yesterday, you sent me a request letter, asking me to have a toilet and pipes installed in your home."
"Yes, I am, you must be Samuel Homer?" Mrs. Gariel replied positively and nicely.
"Yes, it is me."
"Okay, please come in, come in. I'll show you where I would to have the toilet installed."
Samuel, Russell, and the others did so.
Inside the coastal home, Mrs. Gariel led Samuel to an empty room next to the master bedroom. The room didn't have any flooring yet, and it was near to the river. Samuel saw that through a window and knew that he has to do a lot of digging and installing in order to connect the room to the river with pipes, before installing the toilet in the room. So, Samuel looked at the woman and said, "Don't worry, ma'am, I'll do a lot of construction in order to connect this room to the nearby river with pipes, before I would install the toilet."
Mrs. Gariel nodded in understanding, wanting to have a toilet installed in her home.
So, Samuel began by digging the part where the pipes will be laid, before measuring the distance, the thickness of the pipes, and the parts for the water pump and water receiver for the toilet. After that, he took note of the measurements and activated his system hologram screen, ordering some pipes and other simple machinery for receiving water and flushing the toilet. These things costed him 60 Renad coins, but Samuel can afford that. After that, Samuel began working on the water receiver and power generator at the edge of the river. Azalea helped out by freezing the part of the river so Samuel would have an easier time installing them. Once Samuel was done, Azalea unfroze the water, testing his machinery. It worked, with the mechanics that was necessary for working the toilet setting into action. Russell and the others were stunned. After that, Samuel continued his job by installing pipes for the water to go into the toilet, before connecting into the toilet in the room. He then installed the toilet with flushing and water tank into the hole he had dug earlier and fixed any necessary things to make the toilet work. After another half an hour of fixing and testing, it was now finally completed. So, rather enthusiastic about testing the newly installed toilet, Samuel used his water magic to push the water from the river to the toilet through the pipes and pushed the flush lever down, causing water to pour into the toilet bowl, and flushing it. Russell, his party, and Mrs. Gariel were astonished to see that it worked.
"Wow!"
"It worked!"
"Amazing…"
