Third person POV
And then, after that, Janet asked Russell to take her and her two students to their homes in the eastern district of the city. "Yes, of course," replied Russell back nicely, before looking at Janet's two, cheating students. "You two must be her students, right?"
Ian and Erdmann were taken aback by it, and one of them responded, "Yes, we are."
"Let's go."
And so, all of them, including Azalea, boarded Russell's bus, and Russell closed the door and left the area.
Then, with Janet's directions, all of them arrived at that district, which was just a part of the sea of buildings in the city. "Is this it?" Russell asked Janet. Janet then nodded. "Yes, we are here. Thank you."
"You're welcome," replied Russell back happily and nicely, "I am happy to help."
He then opened the door. "Here you go. That'll be 1 copper coin, please."
Janet then paid her fare and her two students' fares with her own money.
Russell received it. "Thank you. By the way, why are you going to their homes?"
"Because these two students," Janet replied back while glancing at Ian and Erdmann for a few seconds, "cheated in their exams, so I decided to have a talk with their parents."
"What?" Russell was mildly shocked, before looking at Ian and Erdmann for a bit. "Those two did?"
Azalea and John were stunned, too.
"Yes." Janet nodded, before getting her purse and got off the bus, telling Ian and Erdmann to come with her.
But, Ian and Erdmann wouldn't because they were afraid of their parents' scolding them. Instead, the two students wanted to stay inside the bus, prompting Russell to tell them to get off and follow their professor.
"We don't want to…" Ian responded while trying to distract his attention to the comfortableness of the seats.
"Look, I may not have gone to a school here," replied Russell back in persuading, "but even though I would be a student, I would never cheat in my exams."
"Why?" Erdmann replied. "How old are you?"
"I am 16 years old, and a Renad here."
"What?!" Ian and Erdmann responded back in shock. "You're that young, yet you can drive this strange thing?"
"Yes, I can. Now, both of you take responsibility for your actions and face the consequences. Or, I'll kick both of you out of this bus by force."
Russell said that seriously with a stern look on his face, like a Filipino parent towards a troublesome child.
This scared and intimidated them, and both of the students eventually obliged, grabbing their school bags and getting off the bus, catching up with Janet, who was already inside the communal lounge of the tenement building. Seeing that, Russell became positive, knowing that his seriousness as a Filipino in his previous life had worked well.
"Wow, you're serious about people getting into trouble, aren't you, master?" John asked him.
"Yes, I am. I just don't like them getting into trouble," Russell said in response, "only to try to run away from the consequences of doing it."
Azalea had liked that side of Russell, knowing that, if she and Russell were to have kids in the future, she and Russell would use that kind of attitude to discipline them if they got into trouble.
At the same time, Ian and Erdmann were scolded by their parents, who lived next to each other on the same floor and building, after their parents had heard from Janet that they had cheated in their exams at school. Janet was looking at the stupid children while crossing her arms and sitting on a wooden chair in the communal lounge. Ian and Erdmann felt bad for their actions and apologized to them and Janet.
Meanwhile, Russell and his friends wondered if they should leave, but Russell said, "I am not sure though…" And then, after an eternity, Janet came back after 14 minutes of talking with her two students' parents. "I am back!" She then hopped on and sat down in a front-row seat. Russell and his friends then noticed her.
"Oh, you're back? Is it done? How are those two students of yours?" Russell asked her.
Smiling at him, Janet replied back, "It's now done. Both of them felt bad for their actions, apologized to me and their parents, and promised not to do it again."
"Wow, that's good," Azalea responded back delightfully and positively. "It seems that both of them had learned their lesson."
"I hoped so. Say, how about staying at my home for the night?"
Russell and his friends were stunned at her offer.
"What?"
"You want us to stay at your place?"
"Are you sure about that?"
"Yes," responded Janet back, "so you guys would, you know, rest up and explore this place for a bit. Don't worry, my home is pretty nice and just nearby in the southern part of the city."
After much consideration and thinking, the May party accepted it because they wanted to rest up after nearly a whole day, much to Janet's delight. Janet also promised that she will tell them the backstory of her previous life once all of them were at her home. So, with that in mind, Russell shifted his bus's driving stick to Drive, and all of them left the area. But, Brygida, who had happened to be there at that time, smirked at them because she had bad intentions against Janet. But why?
