Chapter 116 - Chapter 116 - Ester's chat with Russell

Third person POV

And then, right in time when Ester is about to cross a street, Russell arrives in his bus and pulls over, opening the door. "Okay, everyone," he said to his passengers, "we're here. That'll be 6 gold coins, 12 silver coins, or 20 copper coins, please."

Ester looked at the bus and was impressed by how Russell managed to do his job well.

And so, many of his passengers stood up, grabbed their belongings, and went to the front, paying their fares according to their current abilities before getting off.

After counting the money and putting it into his money box, Russell looked at Ester. "Oh, hello there, are you here for a ride?"

"Yes, I am," Ester replied back positively. "Towards Fernlay City, please."

"Ah, right in time, kid, that'll be my stop after stopping at Hadrianwood. Hop in."

Ester then hopped in and sat in the front row.

Russell then waited for more passengers to ride his bus, before closing the door after waiting for a few more minutes.

John was sleeping peacefully, as usual, under the dashboard.

After changing his destination sign to Hadrianwood, Russell shifted his gear to Drive and left the area and the coastal town. Along the way, Ester was enjoying the view when Russell struck a chat with him with, "So, how are you, kid?" Ester remained silent. Russell then knew that he might not want to talk to him, so he just said, "Ah, okay, okay, I'll leave you alone if you like. Sorry."

The young Renad then shifted his full focus back to his driving.

A bit later, at 1:23 p.m., the bus arrived at Hadrianwood, and Russell opened the doors while saying his usual words to his passengers every time he stopped at his next destination. This time, another 6 passengers paid their fares and got off, and another 2 had hopped in. With that, Russell closed the door and changed the destination signage to Fernlay City, before shifting his gear back to Drive and leaving the town for Fernlay City. The drive, like in the majority of Russell's daily routes, was really nice as magic supplied the power for the bus.

Later, at 1:59 p.m., all of them arrived in Fernlay City, and Russell opened the doors while saying his usual words to his passengers every time he stopped at his next destination, but with a different set of fares for this route in gold, silver, and copper coins. This time, all of the passengers paid their fares and got off the bus. And then, with all of the passengers gone, Ester said to Russell, "Can we go somewhere private and secluded for a bit? I want to talk to you now."

"Is that so?" replied Russell back while putting his earnings into his metal money box after counting them out.

 "Yes, this is important."

"Ah, okay, sure. I want to take a short break, too."

And so, Russell shifted his gear to Drive and drove his bus to secluded spot within the city's perimeter. There he turned off the bus's engine while leaving the door open for more fresh air. "Okay, we are here," Russell said to Ester. "What do you want to talk about?"

Then, Ester took a deep breath and asked, "Do you know who I am?"

"No, I don't. Sorry, I am new to you, kid."

"Well, I am not a human, actually."

Russell was surprised and looked at him. "Wait, what? So that means you're a…?"

"Yes, I am an Elder Guardian responsible for the law and order of each world in this universe," Ester replied confidently and positively.

"Wait, there is more than one world here?" Russell asked back in shock.

Ester then nodded. "Yes, and in fact, I am the one who reincarnated you into this world into your current self."

Russell was even more shocked than ever. "Eh?! What?!"

John was shocked to hear about Ester's role in reincarnation cycles. "What? You are?"

"Yes, and I am also responsible for the reincarnation cycles of those who will be reincarnated into different worlds," Ester responded with an explanation. "You see, there are 3 categories of reincarnation cycles: Common, Special, and Grand."

Russell then stood up and stood on the steps facing Ester to listen to him more attentively.

Ester then continued on, "The Common Category is ordinary, where a person will be reincarnated without all of his/her past life memories and with a new body complete with a designated race classification and abilities. The Special Category is more unique than the common one because a reincarnated person will have most of his/her past life memories and slightly more unique abilities complete with an additional designated race."

"Oh…" Russell got it slowly and steadily.

"And finally, there is the highest of them all: the Grand Category," Ester continued on more. "That one is much more unique because a reincarnated person in that category will have most or all of his/her past life memories and plus, more unique and strange abilities inhabitants of their new world had never seen before, and also, a good chance of having a unique designated race alongside their Renad race designation."

Russell was amazed at the 3 categories of reincarnation cycles set by Ester. "Woah…"

"And by the way…" Ester broke his chain of amazement, "…you're in the Grand category of your current reincarnation cycle."

"Wait, what???" Russell was shocked again.
