Third person POV
After he and his party and group had gotten off the bus, Russell looked at the closed gate of his new home. The estate's property within its brick walls was like any other noble's estate in terms of land size. The house was two stories high and was made of three buildings synthesized into one big building. The estate also had gardens and a huge front yard.
"Woah…" Russell commented.
His mind then said, "They said it was small, and the house was modest, but to me, the estate was a bit big."
Russell then understood that all people had different perspectives of what is considered modest.
His group was in awe at the estate's looks.
"Wow…" Adrian commented.
That adopted prince was there to accompany him and others.
"Yes, this is it, Russell-kun," he said to Russell.
And then, an old man with elf ears came to the gate, asking them what they were doing in his master's property.
"Good morning, sir," Cassius responded on Russell's behalf, "we are here because this young fellow is now the owner of this estate."
The old man, a half-human, half-elf named Marcel Mineheart, was surprised because he, the caretaker of the estate, wasn't informed of that. As proof, Russell showed him his document of a deed of transfer. "Here's the proof, sir."
Upon seeing that, Marcel now believes him and Cassius and opened the gate using a key from a set of keys. "Come in, sir."
Russell then folded his document and hurriedly went back to his bus to move it into the property,
As Russell did so, Marcel was in awe to see a metal carriage that doesn't need a horse or a donkey to pull it. "Wow…"
Russell's party and group then went in.
"Yes," Cassius replied back to him. "That one was his vehicle."
Russell parked his bus at an empty spot and turned off the engine, before getting off with his knapsack, scabbard, and metal body armor.
Marcel then closed the gate and went to Russell. "Welcome to your new home, sir."
"Yes, thank you, sir," Russell happily and politely replied back.
Marcel then went to the front door of the house and opened it with another key from his set of keys. Opening the door, Marcel looked at Russell. "This way, my good sir." Russell and the others carried their belongings and went into the house with Marcel, before Marcel would close the dark oak door.
Inside the house's first floor, Marcel gave them a tour of the house. The first floor consisted of the living room, a drawing room, the kitchen, a wide dining room, and a storage room. The second floor had 6 bedrooms, a huge study, and a big library. The estate also had a separate bathhouse with a roofed connector to the drawing room via a door.
But, since he was old and frail, Marcel couldn't go to the second floor to show them the tour.
But the old caretaker did tell them the details of its floorplan.
"Thank you, again, sir," Russell replied nicely, "don't worry about that, we'll just see them ourselves."
"Yes, thank you, young man," Marcel responded humbly. "My name is Marcel Mineheart."
"Nice to meet you, Marcel-san. My name is Russell May, and I am a Renad."
Russell's party and friends, except for Cassius, then said their introductions to Marcel.
Marcel, who had light yellow hair and average in height, was surprised to hear that fact from Russell.
"Me too as well, amigo," Nathan added.
"Wow, that was unexpected," Marcel replied, before scratching the back of his neck for a bit.
He then looked at Russell. "No wonder that hat of yours is new."
Russell then held his bus driver's cap for a few seconds. "Yes, this one is for a bus driver."
"Bus driver?" Marcel replied back.
"Yes, Marcel-san," Adrian responded, "see that bus my friend drove in a couple of moments ago? That was what he calls a bus."
Adrian and Russell chose not to tell Marcel how a bus works in terms of machinery and mechanics.
Marcel now gets it and said, "I see. Okay then, settle down. If you need anything, I'll be in my brick hut outside making my own lunch."
The caretaker then left the room and the house and went back to his little, humble hut home made of bricks outside of the main house.
