Chapter 87 - Chapter 87 – A Favor by Kane

Russell's POV

After that, we all went back to the Blue Jay Estate to return the stolen horse carriage to Kane. There Kane was very happy to see that his transport of prestige had been recovered and returned to him. The two horses with it are safe and sound, as well as unharmed. Eliza was relieved to see that, too.

Also, I heard that Elai and Belius are forbidden from going outside and seeing us and are busy being reeducated by the family's governess.

"Thank you so much for returning my precious horse carriage," Kane said to us with deep gratitude for us.

Two of his servants are busy reattaching the two metal badges of the removed family crest seal on two sides of the horse carriage.

"Yes, no problem, Kane-san," replied I while readjusting my bus driver's cap a bit.

"We are just doing our part here, sir," Nathan added.

The others are positive that we did it, together.

"Sir, the thieves and their accomplices have been caught so you don't have to worry about your carriage or any of your belongings getting stolen," the captain of the squad reported to the duke.

Kane then nodded. "Yes, thank you."

After that, the duke gave us, including the captain and his squad of town guards, a few, small coin sacks containing gold coins, silver coins, copper coins, and a few gemstones of lapis lazuli. While the captain and his squad were happy to receive their part of the reward for their hard work, me and my group tried to refuse it, but again like yesterday, Kane insisted. So, not wanting to make him disappoint or upset, we accepted the rest of the reward.

"I'll be reporting this happening and how you guys solved it for us to the capital," Kane said to us brightly.

 "Oh, the capital?" Azalea responded.

"That would be the Passato family," Eliza replied back.

 "Oh…right…" I replied.

My mind then said, "The word capital refers to the higher authority of this kingdom, as well as the place of administration."

Third person POV

Later, during lunchtime in the dining hall, while eating with his family and others, Kane asked Russell for a favor. The captain and his squad, meanwhile, were sent away back to their duties in the town's main barracks. "Yes?" Russell looked at him.

Elai and Belius are eating next to their stepmother while not looking at Russell and his group.

"Can you take me and my entourage to the capital for a day?" Kane asked Russell.

"Why not in your horse carriage?" Cassius asked.

"Me and my entourage wanted to feel what it would look like of being in your vehicle," Kane politely replied back. "I also had business and matters to attend there as well.

"Oh, okay…" Cassius and Russell understood that.

The others are quiet eating their meals.

"I had heard many stories of Renad people coming and leaving this world," Kane added as well, "and some of them have strange things with them."

He then looked at Russell again. "But yours, Mr. May, is very unique and helpful."

"Oh, okay, sure, thanks, Kane-san," replied Russell meekly.

"Also, sir," Nathan added directly at Kane, "Russell used his bus to block the road going south of this town so we could catch those thieves who had stolen your horse carriage yesterday."

Kane and Eliza were very surprised to hear such a smart move made by Russell, while Elai and Belius felt envious of his tactics on the inside.

"How smart and splendid are you, Russell!" Kane commented to Russell. "You're actually capable of doing that and making other tactics, too?"

Russell couldn't help but feel pressured to answer that question. "Yes, for most of the time, sir."

The youngster then resumed eating his meal.

"Okay," answered Kane back, "well then, tomorrow morning, we will be leaving after breakfast."

Russell and his party and group then agreed with him.

Later in the afternoon, Russell was reading his book while sitting on a wooden bench in the gardens of the estate. The blue flowers are very appealing to his sight, especially due to the fact that his favorite color is blue in all shades of it. And then, Sylas and Caspian came to him casually. "Mr. May…" Sylas said to him.

Caspian had just come home from the academy, only to be told what had happened this morning by Kane.

Sylas also heard that and was very amazed by Russell's way of thinking and tactics.

So, both of them are now going to Russell in the gardens to have a chat with him.

Upon hearing that, Russell looked to his right. "Oh, hey, guys."

"Man, Russell, you're so cool with your bus!" Caspian said to him back in enthusiasm.

 "How?"

"We heard that you had caught the thieves who had stolen Master Kane's horse carriage," Sylas explained.

"Oh, that?" Russell replied back. "Did that guy tell you that?"

"Yes, Father did that." Caspian nodded positively.

"Thank you for your help to us, Sir Russell," Sylas said to Russell with gratitude.

"Come on, that's too formal," Russell replied while being flustered by the title "Sir".

"That's what we say to those who were guests at this estate," Caspian responded.

Russell gets it out of respect for them and their personal preferences.

Meanwhile, Elai was looking at them from a window of her room, feeling jealous, green-eyed, resentful, and envious of Russell and his honest, humble, and sensitive nature. She wants to beat and humiliate him for ruining her and her party's reputation but can't now because of being grounded by her parents. "You'll pay for your insolence, Russell…" her mind said with anger and hostility.

She then drew the curtains because she didn't want to see him, blocking the sunlight of the afternoon sun.

Back at the gardens, Russell, Caspian, and Sylas are having a good chat. Russell revealed to them about his departure and trip to Rossley with Kane and his entourage tomorrow morning. Caspian and Sylas understood that, knowing that Kane was sometimes busy with his duties as Duke of Geran.
