Third person POV
Later, after breakfast, Kane sent out a squad of 6 town guards to search for the thieves who stole his horse carriage. Russell and his party and group also joined in while Caspian went to school. Elai and Belius, meanwhile, are at home being taught lessons in common sense and the code of conduct by their governess and stepmother. The squad used Russell's description of the location of where those thieves.
After much searching, they found the secluded spot, but the suspects nor the stolen horse carriage were nowhere to be seen. What was left was two metal badges of the removed family crest on the ground.
"Oh no…" Russell couldn't believe that.
"These guys were here yesterday afternoon," Adrian added.
"These thieves must've left and gone somewhere else," Cassius added as well.
Because of this, the captain of the squad picked those two metal pieces and told his men to scatter and scour the entire town to search for those thieves.
His squad did so, and Russell and his party and group helped out by splitting up to cover more area within the town's perimeter.
Russell, meanwhile, tagged with Nathan.
Others are now searching the other parts of town for those thieves.
But Russell got an idea, so he said to Nathan, "Nathan, let's go back to the Blue Jay Estate. I'll do something smart." Nathan agreed, and both hurried back to Kane's estate. There Russell opened his bus doors with his ignition key, and both hopped on. Nathan took a seat while Russell sat down in his driver's seat, buckled his seatbelt, and used his key to turn on the engine. Nathan figured out what Russell was about to do and was shocked to find out that Russell was now using his bus to chase the horse carriage thieves. "Wha...? You-You're doing this?" Russell then looked at him via the mirror above the dashboard and smiled in cool confidence. "Yup, hold on and watch, my friend."
The young bus driver then shifted his gear to Drive, and both left the estate property, before making a left turn, then a right turn towards center of town.
In the meantime, Adrian and Kelly found the carriage thieves attempting to sell Kane's stolen carriage to some commoners who were willing to pay for it with a large sum of money in the form of gold coins and some gemstones of diamonds and rubies. So, Adrian called them, "Hey! That's the duke's horse carriage, you thieves!"
This only resulted with the thieves to see them.
"What the…? A child and his mommy?" one of them responded with some mockery.
Adrian and Kelly were seriously pissed off, and Kelly responded by summoning ice magic on her right hand. "I am not his mommy, you bastards."
Adrian unsheathed his sword.
This causes the thieves and their clients to get scared off by them, and they abandoned their transaction and fled the scene on Kane's stolen horse carriage.
Upon seeing that, Adrian and Kelly gave chase.
"Come back here!"
At the same time, the others noticed that crossing an intersection in fast speed and started to chase them.
"Hey! Get back here, you thieves!" the captain of the squad yelled at the thieves.
And then, Russell and Nathan were going down a street when they noticed the fast, stolen horse carriage crossing the intersection. So, they stopped, and Russell said through the microphone and speaker, "Don't worry, guys, we got this." Upon hearing that, the others were stunned while Cassius and Azalea were confident that Russell would do something smart, yet radical.
And so, Russell made a right turn towards south of town and is now chasing the thieves from behind. And then, both vehicles went out of town and down the straight, paved road towards southeast of Wallisville. The thieves noticed that they're being chased and were shocked to see such a fast vehicle of metal.
"What the hell?"
"Is that a…?"
Russell then grabbed his microphone and said to them through the speakers, "You're not having that thing, you bunch of thieves!"
Nathan was amazed at Russell's doing.
Because of this, one of the thieves and their clients told the driving member to go faster.
That driver did so, but then, Russell sped up and went ahead of them, before blocking their way, both sides of the road.
Russell received and gained a lot of points in his current level for doing such a smart and radical move against the carriage thieves and their accomplices.
