Chapter 69 - Chapter 69 – Photography and Wolf Abilities

Third person POV

Not long after, Ruiz woke up, only to see something so unfamiliar, a small, flying black dragon flying above him in the sky. "What is that?" he asked, before getting up and looking around his surroundings. The place he woke up in was a forest in a fantasy world. Ruiz had been reincarnated in that world.

So, he stood up and looked around. "Wow, where am I?"

The young man then looked at his clothes, only to see that it was the same ones as the ones he had worn hours before his death in his previous life.

And then, a hologram screen appeared before him, telling him that his new name is now Nathan Wolfstein, no longer called as Ruiz Rodriguez anymore.

Ruiz, now known as Nathan Wolfstein, was stunned, and the hologram screen told him that his new and primary ability is called Photography, an A-ranked ability where a user can take a picture with a hologram screen, as well as having the ability to adjust the aspects of it before snapping a picture.

Nathan was amazed, being stunned that his career as a professional photographer is not yet over.

And then, the hologram screen changed into a screen camera with the front pointing at where it was pointing at. It also had features like a button to snap a photo and adjusters to adjust any aspect of the picture. Seeing those controls, Nathan tested it out by taking a picture of some trees. It did its job, and a paper, glossy photo of his recent take appeared in front of him. Nathan then grabbed it and saw how good and high-quality it was, even though he didn't mess any of the controls on the screen.

Happy that his career is not yet over, he thought. "Now I can continue taking pictures even in this strange new world. I'll make a small living out of it."

And so, after the hologram screen disappeared in front of him, Nathan tucked the photo into his pants pocket and began walking through the forest in search of a civilization. Along the way, he encountered a pack of Dark Wolves eating and feasting on their recently caught prey. "Woah, better not disturb them," Nathan thought, before beginning to sneak his way through.

But he accidentally stepped on a twig, producing a slight, cracking noise.

"Oh no!" his mind yelled in panic.

The pack heard that and looked at him, interrupting their meal.

Nathan was afraid and began running away for his life.

The pack of Dark Wolves then abandoned their dead prey and began chasing him.

Hearing their wolfly growls, Nathan said to himself in despair, "First day of my life in this world is already bad enough!"

But then, he arrived and stopped at a dead end and looked at the pack, who were now cautiously approaching him with hostility. "Please…guys…calm down," Nathan tried to calm their hostility down. Then, something made the pack stop being hostile at him and just sit down.

"Wait, what? How that happened?" Nathan was stunned to see their sudden shift of behavior.

The pack are just looking at him while wagging their tails like good dogs.

That something had something to do with Nathan's mind.

"No way…" Nathan slowly approached them and touched the head of one of them.

That Dark Wolf liked him patting its head.

 "Good…boy?" Nathan said to it.

The Dark wolf then nuzzled into the palm of his hand, embracing him.

After that, Nathan pulled his hand out, and the same hologram screen from last time appeared before him, informing him that he had unlocked ability, this time, a secondary ability called Wolf Control, an S-ranked ability. That ability enabled a user to control any species of wolves, including the more common Dark Wolves in any way it wants. It also allowed the user to command them on a whim as well. Nathan was amazed, knowing that he had unknowingly unlocked another, new ability.

So, once the hologram screen disappeared in front of him, Nathan looked at the pack of Dark Wolves and commanded them to stand up. The pack did so, and Nathan commanded them to show him where is the nearest civilization to their location. The pack did so and ran towards somewhere northwest of their location. Nathan then ran after them, thinking that the pack would find what he was searching for.
