Chapter 23 - Chapter 23 – Coffee Beans and two girls

Third person POV

Later on, the May party left the market district and went into the coffee bean fields to check them out in person. There they saw how expansive the fields were, apart from other fields that grew other crops like potatoes. Coffee beans are being grown, planted, watered, and harvested in those wide fields that surrounded Kapeton. Many of the residents are farmers who walked to the fields everyday to take care of their coffee crops and harvest those which are now fully grown and ready to be harvested and sold as raw materials at the market district.

"Woah, this is so awesome," Adrian commented in positive amazement.

"This is quite wide and scattered," Russell added while being interested positively.

John and Azalea were amazed as well.

So, the four of them walked through the fields as farmers toiled under the sun to work and make a living. Some were seen harvesting by hand while others took care of the plants by removing weeds. The coffee beans were an amazing sight to see. Then, as the May party walked by, a farmer, a young man with brown hair and green eyes, spotted them and offered them some of his newly harvest coffee beans. "Hi there! Want some beans?"

Upon seeing that, the party stopped by and went to him.

 "Excuse us?" Russell asked him.

"Want some beans?" the farmer asked once again. "I'll give them to you for free if you don't mind."

 "Is that so?" Azalea responded.

The farmer then positively nodded. "Yes, you can use them to make your own batch of coffee beans with my friend, who was one of the processors of turning these into roasted ones."

To that the May party think for a while, and eventually, Russell accepted the offer. "Okay, thank you, sir. Can you tell us who was that person we should go to?"

"Oh, that person would be Micah Cane," the farmer replied back nicely. "He lives in a farm near the town's school in the south."

"Oh, okay, thanks a lot," Azalea responded back with a quick bow.

"No problem, good luck watching the process."

With that the May party left the field as the coffee bean farmer waved his hand at them in saying goodbye before returning to his farming work.

Using the directions given by the farmer last time, the party arrived at a small farm next to the town's only school. The farm had a compound surrounded by wooden fences, and within that, there are 3 buildings: a house, a storage shed, and a processing facility. Luckily, Micah, the owner and one of the town's coffee bean processors, noticed them standing outside of the main front gate, and so, he went to them and said, "Hi there! What brings you adventurers here?"

"Hello, you're Micah Cane, right?" Azalea asked him.

 "Yes, I am."

But he noticed that Russell was wearing his bus driver's uniform, and having never seen a strange attire before, Micah asked him, "Hey, uh, I'm sorry if I am being rude to you, but what is that strange attire?"

"Oh, this?" Russell replied as he pointed at his clothes. "I am a bit nervous to tell you this, but I am a bus driver."

 "Bus…driver?"

Then, Russell's party explained to Micah about that profession and definition.

A few minutes later, Micah now gets it and said, "Oh, that makes sense." He then looked at Russell. "Dang, you might be a rarity to handle and operate that strange-sounding machine, aren't ya?"

"Yes, I am," Russell replied while trying to be as nice and humble as possible. "Anyway, we are here because we wanted to have these coffee beans turned into roasted ones."

He then showed the beans he had been holding to him.

Seeing those red berry-like beans, Micah was astonished. "Ah, I see. You wanna see them being made into roasted ones, eh?"

"Yes, please," Adrian replied back nicely.

 "Well, okay, come in."

Micah then opened the small, wooden gate, and the May party went in, before Micah would close the gate.

The five of them are now walking towards the processing facility, which is essentially a small building made of bricks and with tiled roofing, while Micah summarizes the processes and procedures of turning raw coffee beans into roasted, ready-to-use ones. The May party paid attention to him closely. And then, they had arrived at that brick building, where two girls, both have silver, long hair and dark red eyes, were grinding and roasting the beans for Micah.

"Girls!" Micah called them, catching their attention.

"Woah, what?" Russell responded to this when he and his party saw the two identical girls.

"You have workers here, too?" Azalea asked Micah.

Micah then looked at them brightly. "Yes, these twins are Rai and Ria. They are my trusty part-time workers in this business of processing coffee beans."

"Oh, that makes sense," John responded back.

And then, Rai and Ria went to their employer and looked at the May party with curiosity on their faces. Russell and his party were then taken aback by their motions of being curious. "Are you guys human?" Rai asked the party.

"Y-Yes, we are," Russell replied back nervously.

"I am not," John objected. "I am a Dark wolf."

To that the twin girls were enamored by John's cuteness for a couple of seconds.

"These people are here to see how their coffee beans are being processed," Micah said to the twins, "so please be nice to them.

The twins got it very fast.
