Chapter 21 - Chapter 21 – Going westwards

Third person POV

Then, Denali asked Adrian what he should do for now. "Well…" Adrian responded while thinking, "…do I have any quests for the next few days?" Denali then responded by checking for any available quests. But those quests are either for high-ranking adventurers or too hard for Adrian to handle, so she said to him and the May party, "We don't have any quests that best suit you for a while."

"We suggest doing things with your new party until a suitable quest is available," Eloni added.

Hearing that, Adrian understood it, but Russell had an idea: What if he could take Adrian on his trips and routes across the kingdom?

So, thinking that it would be a good idea, he verbalized that idea to his new party member.

Adrian was surprised to hear that, and he looked at him. "Really?"

"Yes," replied Russell back, "so you could travel around the country with us while in my routes as a bus driver."

Because of that, Adrian looked at Azalea and John, who nodded in encouragement.

And eventually, Adrian agreed with Russell's suggestion, believing that will allow him to do something good for a while. After that, Eloni tells the May party to eat lunch early and leave early because there is a possibility that the Elai party might be after them. Russell and his party then accepted it, and Azalea and Adrian led their party to the guild's mess hall, which is a wide and spacious room for meals for the guild members.

There they get some food and drinks and went to a table for four and with wooden benches to eat up. John can't get some so Russell got some for him. They were hungry from that quest. And as the humans placed their trays of food and drink on the dark oak table, they all sat down. John, however, sat down on the bench, and Russell placed the small plate of his food, which consisted of roasted chicken meat and lamb, for him. And then, Russell, Azalea, and Adrian did a prayer gesture. "Thanks for the food."

After that, they grabbed their steel utensils and eat up, while John eats his meaty meal.

The food was delicious and tasty, and Adrian loved mutton, so he got a lot of them alongside some veggies.

The four of them had a great time.

After that early, pre-noon lunch, they all stood up and left the mess hall, back into the lobby, and out of the guild via the front entrance as Denali and Eloni bid them farewell. At the same time, the Elai party are now on their way to town. So, the May party walked back to Russell's bus, before hopping in and settled down. Russell sat down in his driver's seat and put on his seatbelt. He then closed the bus door and said to his party, "Okay, let's get out of here before that party would catch us."

His party agreed with him, and Russell shifted his gear to Drive and left the space.

Not long after, the bus left Leafmight and went somewhere westward.

Later, at noon, the Elai party arrived at the guild, only to receive discipline, repercussions, and a penalty for their action toward Adrian. The party felt so humiliated by it because the guild master did all that in the lobby, in front of everyone there. Their penalty is 1 week of suspension from going on quests. Although Denali gave them the money Russell left for them, Elai felt even more humiliated, so she slapped Denali's hand in anger and frustration. "Those bastards!" She said that towards Russell and Azalea.

Her party showed their negative expressions to Denali, who was not happy at their ungratefulness.

"Then you brought it upon yourself," Denali said to the party with a cold and negative expression on her face.

"Yes, Russell-san did the right thing," her father said to them while being upset.

He knows that from his daughter from this morning.

Because of that, the Elai party was even more upset and just stormed off to their rooms on the third floor of the guild building while still feeling so humiliated by Russell and his small party. The Fire Saintess was angry that Russell had exposed her and her party's misdeeds to the guild, and she and her younger brother are now angry at Russell more than at Azalea.

What they will do to him then?

Also, meanwhile, the royal spies are still pursuing the May party as the party left Leafmight. Those spies are determined to see if Russell was the one who saved Snowyfield Village from the bandits a few days ago.
