"Shin... Shin... Shin..." The voice echoed in his dream, growing louder with each repetition until it finally jolted him awake, causing him to flail his arms and accidentally smack Hiro in the face.
Hiro, rubbing his cheek, exclaimed, "Ouch! Shin, wake up! We're in trouble if we're not back in our rooms! Emi and Dai are going to kill us for sure"
Blinking groggily, Shin realized he had been sleeping face-down on the muddy ground all night, his face and clothes a mess. He scrambled to his feet, slipping and sliding comically as he tried to regain his balance.
Akiko was standing a little distance away from the two, looking over him with concern evident in his eyes. "You alright there, Shin?" he asked.
Finally regaining his bearings, Shin felt the ache in his shoulders.
"Yes...Yes. I`m fine, Aki. let's hurry back", With a mix of embarrassment and urgency, he followed Hiro's lead, stumbling his way back to the orphanage. The three boys hurriedly sneaked into their rooms just in time to avoid Emi's wrath.
After reaching his room, instead of going to bed, Shin went to the shower and quickly cleaned himself. After freshening up, He checked the status of his body, and a bit of a smile emerged on his face.
'I unlocked my chakra. Finally, he exclaimed.
He nodded to himself, 'It took a very long time,' reminiscing about his arduous two-week journey of intense workouts.
'Now, I should focus on my physical training and chakra practice,'
Shin closed his eyes, attempting to meditate once again, seeking to sense the chakra. Suddenly, a peculiar sensation stirred in his gut, slowly growing ticklish. After a couple of minutes, he found himself struggling to hold back the urge to burst into laughter. Then, finally, he felt it.
A strange tendril of energy, faint yet present, deep within his gut. He attempted to guide the small amount of chakra through his body, from his gut to his hand. The chakra slowly began its journey, but as it reached the shoulder region, it vanished.
At that moment, a wave of exhaustion washed over Shin, nearly causing him to stumble once more. He managed to steady himself, gripping onto the legs of a nearby table.
'Well, back to the grind again. I need to plan out my physical exercises. Better get started soon after breakfast'
After finishing his meal, he ventured to the playground. Finding a secluded spot surrounded by bushes, he sat down, determined to infuse more chakra. He remained there for thirty minutes, eventually producing a small amount. Feeling this small amount of chakra, his mood brightened.
Opening his eyes, he fought the urge to jump up and down and instead shouted with jubilation, "Yes!!!"
A few curious kids glanced in his direction, but Shin paid them no mind. He focused on spreading the chakra throughout his body and immediately felt a boost of strength.
"Now, let's see... I'll start with two laps around the playground," he decided.
He began running, feeling the extra strength coursing through him as he didn't falter even once during his run.
"Haha!" he laughed triumphantly, raising his hand in celebration. After finishing his initial run, he stretched and proceeded to do a series of exercises. He performed ten reps of push-ups, fifteen reps of squats, twenty reps of lunges, fifteen reps of sit-ups, ten reps of pull-ups, and many more in one set.
Sweat dripping from his face, he felt happy once again at unlocking his chakra.
"I guess chakra really does make a huge difference. It's amazing how much of a gap exists between an ordinary person and someone with unlocked chakra," he observed.
He completed three sets of each exercise, taking a five-minute break between each set. Afterward, he ran four laps, feeling a satisfying level of exhaustion. He retreated to a bench in the playground for a well-deserved rest.
Shin rested for thirty minutes this time, before starting the whole exercise once again. Some of the other kids started noticing his unusual activity as well and kept watching him.
'I guess I have to change my training location, It would be better if I go to the forest area or one of those training grounds instead of coming here. But, would I be allowed access there?'
Taking another break, he then muttered to himself, "I also need to work on chakra control. At my current level, I can only faintly feel where the chakra is going, not its actual path. For that, I think Leaf concentration exercises would give me a good start and then I can move towards advanced exercises"
'Ah, this year's academy entrance exams have already passed. I'll have to wait another year to participate. I wonder if they'll still be held by then. The Nine-Tails attack would pretty much fuck up every part of the village'
'Well, no use wasting time thinking about it.' Shin concluded, leaving the playground once his sweat had cooled.
He ran to the orphanage this time, reaching it within just five minutes. After entering the orphanage, he saw that it was already 11 am. He took a shower and started to meditate in his room again. He noticed he could feel his chakra starting to build up once again.
Shin took out one of the many leaves from his pants pocket and placed it on his head. Carefully balancing it, he prepared for the leaf concentration exercise.
"Now let's see how this works. Concentrate your chakra and move it towards your head, then focus on the leaf," he reminded himself.
Shin closed his eyes and attempted to guide his chakra. Thirty minutes passed, and he gasped, beads of sweat forming on his brow. He took a few deep breaths, feeling the strain of the exercise.
'This is harder than I thought it would be. Just spreading my chakra without direction was much easier during the exercises. But this... this requires precise concentration and control, to focus on the direction where it is going'
He pondered whether studying books on human anatomy could provide any insights. 'Although ninjas develop their chakra network as soon as it's unlocked, maybe learning about normal human biology could still be useful. Still, I would like to learn and maybe I will get some insights from it'
Concluding his exercise, he felt some drain in his mental capacities for a while. He tried to rest for another hour before trying the exercise once again.
After going through another session of leaf concentration he called it quits as it was too draining for his current chakra capacity. Although there was some mental benefit to doing this exercise, it just wasn't enough at his current level.
Seated on his mat, Shin pondered deeply, speaking softly to himself. "Let's think about the three main types of shinobi battle style: Taijutsu, Ninjutsu, and Genjutsu. For Taijutsu, I think it would be better to just incorporate punching and kicking in my usual exercises as well as some Karate forms I learned during my childhood, for now. I only remember some bits and pieces of it anyway. Later I can learn in the academy some specifics to guide my training.
Now for Genjutsu, I only remember the ones used by Sharingan and that one hilarious attempt by Kurenai. Besides, I remember that you would have to have a very decent degree of chakra control to even think of learning any kind of Genjutsu, that`s true even for the Uchiha. So, I'll leave that aside for now, unless I find a summoning creature like the 3rd Mizukage's, which can help with casting Genjutsu.
For Ninjutsu, there are elemental jutsu, kekkei Genkai, and Kekkei Totas, and then there are other jutsu like the substitution jutsu which doesn't fit the category. Also, the advanced version of Ninjutsu such as Shadow Style and Light Style. The ones responsible for Medical Ninjutsu, Tail beast creation, Yamanaka mind Jutsus, well that is a topic for a later.
Now I would have to get the chakra paper and learn my nature affinity. I think any nature can be good because it depends more on the ninja than the element, that decides the lethality of your attacks. Although, I have a personal bias for Lightening or Fire, just because they were used the most in the series.' Remembering Madara from the anime using 'Fire style: Majestic Destroyer Flame', He got chills just thinking about it.
'I should visit the marketplace and the ninja weaponry store. I need to know the prices of ninja weapons and get chakra paper'
'Now back to the elements, I think the wind would not be a good affinity for me just because there is no set path in the leaf village for it, no former Kage or notable Ninjas have made their mark using Wind Style. Although, there might be some in the Hidden Sand Village. I think it was maybe mentioned in the anime at some point that the 1st Kazekage was so strong that he managed to unite all of the Land of Wind Shinobi under his rule and then passed on the position to his son after him. Although, I don't know how the 3rd Kazekage got his position, but after his death, Rasa is from the same family as the 1st Kazekage'.
For Earth Style, many notable ninjas use it quite efficiently as their secondary element, namely, Kakashi, and Hiruzen but I have never seen anyone famous in the leaf using it as their primary element. The Hidden Stone`s Tsuchikage is quite efficient in using it.
For lightening style, there is no question that the Raikages, Sasuke, and Kakashi are shining examples of its lethality. For the Water style, there might be more than enough information in the leaf to become Kage, considering Tobirama and Hashirama. Although that can also be said for the Fire Style as that is the main strength of the Sarutobi and Uchiha clans.'
'It's interesting that the Leaf Village has expertise in almost every type of ninjutsu, except Wind Style. But despite their knowledge and skills, major conflicts still occur here. Maybe I'm getting off-topic.' shaking his head at the amusing thought.
'The ninjas can eventually learn to do all five basic elemental jutsu except it wouldn't be quite as efficient as practicing their primary element.'
He then smirked, 'Even after guiding the entire shinobi alliance to make those earth walls, it still wasn't enough to divert that one Tail-beast bomb from the Ten-Tails. If Minato hadn`t saved them in the end, every single ninja would have died there.'
"I will sort out my training tomorrow after getting the chakra paper. Today, I should focus mainly on my physical training", He decided.
