Third Pov:
Kage decided to ban the move because he knew his nephew wouldn't listen to him.
Itami was a workhorse and only trained all day.
Normally, this wouldn't be a problem, but this move puts too much stress on the body.
If Itami trained 'Swallow' like he did his other arts, Itami would permanently injure himself.
Although Itami wasn't reckless, Kage enacted a plan to prevent him from overworking himself.
The plan was simple.
He was going to intimidate Itami into believing if he caught him, he'd get beaten.
This way, when he goes out to train, Itami will be careful not to be out for too long, or make any excess noise.
Itami's Pov:
"I forbid you from using 'Swallow'."
When I heard these words, my heart sank.
Although I considered it a possibility when my uncle told me about my condition, I had hoped it wouldn't happen.
Tsubame was a technique that allowed me to move as fast as a chevalier in bishop rank and gave me the potential to sneak up on those of knight rank.
However, I'd have to give it up. It's my only speed-increasing technique. I can't accept this.
I won't accept this.
"Uncle, why can't we work on this move together and make it safer," I said with dissatisfaction.
"Because high-speed astral arts aren't my specialty, all I could do is give you general knowledge. Normally, this would be fine, but because of the danger 'Tsubame' puts its user in, I can't take the risk. The move is banned, and if I see you training it once, I'll make sure there won't be a second time"
Damn it.
He's made his mind up, and he won't budge.
Will I have to give Tsubame up?
No, I'll train it in secret.
It may limit my time to train it, but some training is better than none.
Third pov:
Once Itami made up his mind to train it, despite his uncle's warning, Itami resolutely marched to his room.
'That boy' Kage thought while shaking his head.
'He needs to learn how to have a poker face, he's too easy to read. Actually, I hope he keeps that face for a while longer. It means he hasn't lost his innocence. It means he doesn't have to question everyone's intentions when they walk up to him. It means he's nothing like me, and that's a good thing.
One month later
Itami's POV:
I woke up like any other despite it not being a regular day.
Why was it different though?
Was it because I invented a new technique?
No.
Was it because I'd eliminated all of the damage from 'Swallow"
No.
Was it because I'd finally managed to defeat my uncle, and get my revenge?
No.
Today was different because today I will challenge the satyr, the fourth king of the forest.
Third pov:
When Itami got up the first thing he did was make breakfast, and prepare himself some lunch because he wouldn't be back until sunset.
The reason is that the satyr's lair was on the other side of the badlands, and it took a 5-hour walk to get there.
Itami could run to shorten the time, but he didn't know how taxing his battle with the satyr would be.
On his way out, he said goodbye to his uncle and started his trek across the frozen wasteland.
4 hours later
Once Itami saw the cave where he stayed he breathed a sigh of relief.
'Finally, I'm done with that stupid walk. Why is everything on this tundra far away? Even, my house is a couple of kilometers away from the mountains I train at.' Itami said with an irritated tone.
Once Itami stopped internally lamenting, Itami took a fifteen-minute break, so he could be at peak form when he faced the beast.
Once Itami entered the cave, as soon as he saw the beast **boom** He used Tsubame to close the distance quickly and give a preemptive strike. Although normally one would go through "the battle of wills", Itami wisely chooses not to do it.
'Although my speed when using Tsubame should be as fast as a bishop, I should not give my opponent a chance to strike when his emphasis is speed.
If I let him measure me up, and attack first, I might not know how I died.
Despite how broken the technique may seem, It worked best when I took the initiative. It was not a reactionary art at all'.
Once Itami closed the distance, he used his canes and aimed at the satyr's head.
Once, Itami's cane started to near its head, he expected it to move, so he prepared a counterattack.
However, as Itami's cane swung down, it made contact with the beast's skull, and the top half of its head disappeared momentarily until Itami was showered by red rain.
As the blood continued to douse Itami's body, he started to smell like iron, but he didn't move because he was frozen in shock.
'That was too easy. I know it had a weaker defense because it specialized in speed, but I shouldn't have been able to end its life within an instant. Is it because I've been training with my uncle? Will the rest of the kings be this easy? Damnit then how am I supposed to train?!."
After Itami finished weeping at the news that he might be too strong for his sparring opponents, he made his way back home.
Once Itami got home he confronted Kage about the "sad" news, but was spun back into reality by Kage's next few words.
" Although the third king the snow turtle, and the 2nd king the snow eagle won't give you trouble, you don't have to worry about being too strong yet because the final king may kill you if you're not careful".
Hearing these words, Itami's sad eyes perked up again and started to bombard his uncle with questions.
"Really. What's it like? I've not been able to find any information on it because it's always hiding in its lair.
The only reason I know it exists is because of the markings it has marking its territory."
Hearing Itami's inquiries, he pondered on whether to tell Itami but decided he'd find out sooner or later, so it couldn't hurt.
"Itami you know of the dungeons right," Kage said mystically.
"Yeah, the towers made by the Titans that house unimaginable treasures and monsters. What about them?" Itami said, confused.
"The last king of the badlands is called an Illucard, and it comes from Noppera's Labyrinth, one of the 118 great towers.
