[breaking news, today at 1 pm, a week after the union their team into the newly discovered black zone we finally reestablished connection with them.]
a young boy 12 years of age stood in front of a large window and stared at the news being broadcast across the many TVs the store was selling.
the boy wore a dark hood, concealing most of his face and body.
however, one thing the hood couldn't conceal was the boy's unique purple eyes which reflected the many screens.
[the union refuses to elaborate on the current state of the team, however the union has revealed that although they have underestimated the threat level of the black zone the team is still more then capable of handling it]
"hi!!!! if your not buying then scram"
a loud and angry voice diverted the boy's attention from the screens.
"your scaring away the customers"
the boy looked around and saw that the man was right.
the boy begger like appearance caused the onlookers across the street to look at him with disgust and actively avoid coming close to the store.
"are you deaf? need me to beat som"
"quiet"
the man couldn't help but freeze when the boy gaze landed on him.
his body began to tremble and he felt like the gravity around him suddenly doubled.
[on another note, today is the day the academies once again open their gates for new students, if your 12 years old whether your poor or rich, talented or talentless.
all are welcome to take the test and hopefully turn their life for the better]
"where is it?"
"w..what?"
"this test, where does it take place?"
the pressure on the store manager continued to increase as the young boy stepped closer and closer to him.
"it's in the black rock stadium, every year the test takes place there"
the manager said as his body was forced to the ground by the pressure around him.
"hi what are you doing? using mana to harm someone is against...ah? where did he go?"
a man dressed in blue and wearing a badge approached the boy as he saw what he assumed to be the boy using mana to somehow force the store manager to the ground.
just as the officer was about to grab the boy, he was suddenly enveloped by purple light and an instant later he disappeared.
.
.
.
the boy now stood on top of a tall apartment building and was looking at the city below him.
with the sun behind his back, the boy's gaze traveled across the city below him, going past the many restaurants and shops until it landed on a large black stadium.
*whoos*
a couple of purple flashes later and the boy now stood in a dark alley very close to the stadium 13 entrance.
there were many families standing in front of the entrance encouraging their kids and watching as they entered the stadium.
the boy waited a couple of minutes in the ally and eventually he decided to enter the entrance as well.
as he walked to the entrance a couple of people eyed him but most were to focused on their own children to notice him.
entering the stadium the boy saw a a large number of booths each with about 5 to 10 kids waited in front of them.
the boy glanced at the lines for a moment before picking the one with the least number of kids in line.
"name?"
a minute later the boy reached the front of the line where a bored looking young man was looking at him and asking for his name.
"Leon"
"last name?"
Leon looked down for a moment as if thinking about what to answer.
"it's not that hard of a q"
"Ross"
thr young man eye twitched in annoyance.
clearly he didn't appreciate his words being interacted like this.
"your hand"
Leon ritched his hand forward and the young man wrapped a piece of paper to it.
Leon looked at the paper and then he headed beyon the booth into a large hallway.
[7]
finding the door with the number matching the one written on the paper attached to his wrist Leon opened it and went in.
the room was devoid of any furnitures and was completely empty except for a small circle painted in the middle.
Leon looked at the wall next to him and read the instructions written on it.
[instructions for use of the affinity tester
1 undress all clothes and put them in one of the corners of the room.
2. stand in the middle of the circle drawn on the floor and stay until told otherwise.
3. when done put all clothes back on and wait for results]
doing as told Leon took off his black hood completely reviling his handsome face and the small scar going across his lips.
Leon took off his satchel and remaining clothes and pit them all in the corner.
stepping in the middle of the circle, a hole opened in the roof and walls of the room and light began to shine on Leon's body.
[affinity: space
mana vains: found
mana vains quality: low...>middle....>high....>Supreme
result=passed
please procedure to the next phase]
Leon looked behind him and saw the wall behind him open and a green arrow sigh pointing towards it.
Leon put on his cloths, once again hiding the majority of his face and followed the green arrow.
.
.
.
meanwhile at a large fancy room set all the academies and guild's representatives waiting for the final phase of the test to begin so that they can do their job as scouts.
*beep*
*beep*
*beep*
*beep*
as if planned ahead all the representatives phones rang at once.
the representatives eyes all nearly popped out of their sockets as they read the massage.
[space affinity found]
*boom whooos*
without saying a word all the representatives ignored the no mana usage rule and rushed out of the room.
they knew that no one will be their to enforce the rule since those supposed to enforce it are all breaking it themselves and rushing towards the same place as them.
.
.
.
"fuck this is so boring, beating up a bunch of kids"
"extra credits is extra credits"
two young man were sitting in a large hall, resembling an arena.
the fact that they were bored out of their mind was written all over their faces.
"shut up the two of you, would you prefer to be like the rest? having to fight every 10 seconds.
you two only need to fight those with mana vains quality of high or higher"
a loud voice was heard trough the speakers.
"oh? you ask and you shall receive. look lively someone is nearly done with the written exam"
"finally"
one of the men stood up causing his clothes to tighten as they struggled to hold back his massive frame and mussels from tearing them.
"you better be on guard Lex, I feel a bit wild right now"
the second man unlike his friend was very skinny, his clothes were very loosely hanging on him.
the skinny man helplessly shook his head and turned to look at the large window hanging above.
behind the window set the third man, the one speaking trough the speakers.
he was just about to tell the two that Leon has finished his test and was now approaching them.
as his finger reached the button activating the speaker he heard shouting coming from behind him.
"move!!!!"
"get out of my fucking way!!"
"friends, why don't you all sit this one out? The Titan Guide is very interested in this little space boy"
"Can your shitty guild even afford him?"
"this man belongs in Twilight, our guild has the best knowledge regarding the space element"
"hahaha, Twilight you garbage don't make me laugh"
*boom*
the door of the observer burst open and close to two dozen men and women squeezed their way into the room.
"you there, where is the boy called Leon?!!"
the observer couldn't help but tremble at the sight of something many powerful people staring at him with hostility.
the man couldn't answer them, he'll he couldn't even open his mouth.
the only thing he could do was point at the window behind him.
*crash*
the observer was thrown to the side and all the people in the room squeezed together and stuck to the window.
they knew they should stop the upcoming fight to prevent even the slightest chance of harm towards Leon, but they couldn't, they were to curious about the capabilities of this unknown and legendary affinity.
"are you ready?"
the massive man stared at Leon and asked.
in response Leon simply tilted his head in confusion.
just a couple of minutes ago some guy had him write the answers to some simple questions regarding mana, history, and some other stuff.
and now some bear-human hybrid was staring him down with hostility and asking if his ready
*boom*
it seems the bear got his answer as a small blust erupted from his feet, propelling him at Leon's direction with insane speed.
time slowed down in Leon's eyes as he curiously watched the bear approaching him.
'what is he doing?'
Leon stood still.
not out of fear, but out of sheer curiosity.
he truly could not understand what the bear plan is.
'I don't get this'
Leon admitted as he watched the bear get so close to him the his barrier started to ripple.
*boom*
the bear seem to phase trough Leon as he want trough his position and landed a couple of meters beyon it.
the bear looked back and saw Leon standing at the exact same position as before.
with the skinny man standing right next to him.
"Good save Rex, I was really worried for a moment you didn't move him in time"
once again Leon tilted his head in confusion.
'I truly don't get this bear thinking'
"I didn't do anything"
the skinny man whispered as he looked at Leon in shock
"he...I don't know what he did but I didn't touch him"
"what? then how did I miss?"
the bear turned his attention back to Leon.
the three just stared at each other for a couple of seconds before the bear just sighed and shoock his head slightly.
"I'm not sure what happened, but if you didn't touch him then I guess the test isn't over"
*woos*
this time the bear slowed down and simply punched in Leon's direction with the power of a bullet train.
once again Leon simply stood still and stared at the incoming attack.
the skinny man stood by the side.
he wanted to rush in and move Leon from the path of the attack, however he remembered that last time he tried that he wasn't needed.
he wanted to see what would happen this time.
*bang*
the punch struck true but something was weird about it.
instead of blusting away Leon simply skidded across the ground lightly and then resumed standing without a single injury, in fact even his clothes seemed unaffected.
the bear didn't resume attacking and instead it rised his fist and looked at it with confusion.
the skinny man despite standing right next to Leon, still couldn't understand what happened.
there was no doubt that the bear fist had hit Leon and yet other then moving him a meter or so it didn't seem to do anything.
a punch coming from one of the strongest students he knew, a punch that if hit him would result in him going to the infirmary.
that punch did nothing to a boy 12 years old?
a boy who haven't even started the his school years?.
"I don't get"
the bear voiced out his deep thoughts.
"I definitely hit you, but at the same time I don't feel like I hit you"
in response to the two confusion Leon simply put forth his palm.
teasing for the bear to touch it.
*step step*
the bear stepped forward and tried to put his palm on top of Leon palm.
"Ah? this...what?"
the bear hand even after he started to put strength into it, failed to reach Leon palm.
it simply staid at a constant centimeter away.
"telekinesis. dozens of layers of them all covering my body at all times"
for the first time Leon spoke and explained, yet somehow he just confused the two even more.
"telekinesis? that's impossible...telekinesis is the basic spell of the space affinity"
the skinny man said with disbelief.
"how is that impossible? my affinity Is space"
Leon said and rised his hand causing him to start levitating.
"I think this test is over" suddenly a rough and old voice came from the speakers.
"president"
"president"
the two man expression turned into shock.
the two have only heard this voice once in person and yet they could never forget it.
it was the voice of the president of the union.
the world strongest.
"what you two heard is right, this boy possess the space affinity. the only one in the world"
in the observer room all the representatives stood at the back of the room and infront of them stood the heads of the guild's and academies, and infront of them stood the president himself.
"Leon Ross, I have high expectations from you young man"
saying so the president turned around and began to leave the room.
"president are you just going to leave?"
one of the heads present asked.
"of course, the task to teach this boy falls on the academies and the job of maximizing his potential falls into the guild's, and if the elite families wants to have him join them then its their business.
in that case why should I stay?"
and with that, the world strongest left, leaving behind a group of confused and somewhat lost powerhouses.
