Chapter 25 - Lost

As the day darkened, I realized that I was doomed.

Not just because I was all alone in a completely different place, but because I didn't have where to stay, or money to get something to eat.

I wrapped my arms around my middle protectively while feeling guilt eat at my stomach from the insides, because this way, I was undoubtedly starving my poor baby.

Or perhaps it was just hunger pangs, I wasn't sure.

After walking around aimlessly with no destination in mind, my legs were starting to hurt and my throat felt so dry. I found an empty spot beside a poll and a wall, chosing to sit in that spot and rest a little. The sky was darkening even more, reminding me that I really didn't have anywhere to go.

I tried to remain strong for my baby, but there was only so much I could handle. Soon, I was sobbing silently into my palms while my shoulders shook.
