Chereads / A Mark Left Behind / Note 8/14/2024

Note 8/14/2024

I've come to the realization that school is now my entire life.

That may sound exaggerated and it most likely is, but I now have much less time in order to dedicate to writing.

So my plans are of the following:

The release schedule will be from Friday-Sunday

A three chapter week schedule and if I believe you, the readers, have reached a goal or milestone of some kind, another chapter will be posted early Monday morning.

But for now, I'll be studying in order to get my already dropping grades back to straight A's (wish me luck).

Currently, almost two chapters are finished.

I will see when I will start posting again, but it will most likely be either next week or the week after next week.

For those of you who still support me even though I have done nothing but post Notes in the past couple of chapters, I sincerely thank you.

From here on, it is mostly miscellaneous topics.

Though I will admit, because of how long it's been since I last read 'Becoming Professor Moriarty's Probability', I've forgotten quite a lot. Thankfully, Genesis Studio (they have changed their brand) has found someone to start translating once again. Of course, I will be reading AI translations for the chapters that have not been translated, and at the rate Genesis Studio is going, it will take several months before I see the end.

(They are 4 chapters per week and are currently at 155 chapters. Raws are at 262 chapters. This is not including that the author Mamo Kim has said that during his military deployment, he will still be adding extra chapters that he could not in the main story.)

Also, even within the AI translations (though I am grateful for them since this FF couldn't have started otherwise), it does not have the extra 5 chapters called 'The Adventures Of Isaac Adler (1) - (5)'. I still sigh seeing that on the official Novelpia website and comparing it to the third pirate website I use which still does not have the Extras…

Another thing to note, the Author's Note will also be having many more things added. In hindsight I should have done it much sooner. I initially thought that the brief Author's Note would be something that readers would like as it would further shorten things that do not need to be read. But in the present I thought the following: if I do not place my hopes and aspirations within the Author's Note and wait after each Volume in order to tell my feelings, the entire first volume would be void of my thoughts and readers who may like the story will know nothing about me. Those who will skip the Author's Note, will always skip. There is no changing that.

Finally, as a breath of fresh air from the various announcements and my brain's inner workings, I will be talking about my previous FF and the source material: 'Mission: Yozakura Family'.

If I remember correctly, I remember saying somewhere that this particular one would eventually get a rewrite and how I was disappointed about the outcome. Both are true.

I posted every chapter after completing it, which varied from an extremely long 10k word chapter to around 1.5k word chapters. It varied quite a lot. I was quite stupid— or rather, quite impatient when first starting that FF. I thought 'I don't want to disappoint my fans!' and persisted in writing chapters or sometimes ignored the FF altogether for days without notice in order to take care of mental health as the imaginary weight of being an author still lowered my SAN points.

(As a side note, I did not ignore this FF, I simply needed time to sort out what was going to be said… Though you can think of it as you will.)

I have now learned two things from that particular situation.

Always have extra chapters before posting.Inform readers and take breaks.

And perhaps 2 '0.5' points, 1.5: always keep the same amount of chapters extra when you start and increase it. 2.5: Enjoy the process.

Though those two may seem contradictory, they are still critical in my personal opinion.

Ah, I have deviated from the topic. But as a last note for you readers who may want to start writing as I and other authors do. Keep point 2.5 in mind. Some do it better than others and others don't. Even now as I write, I still constantly learn chapter formatting and writing skills from Korean Authors such as Sinnoah.

Everything in the end is an infinite process of learning, including life. That's perhaps one of the life lessons novels have taught me.

Hmm…

I was planning on moving on and speaking of more light matters but since I have already deviated, I suppose this is a right stopping place.

For those of you who needed motivation to write and found it here, I applaud you and wish to see your works on some platform some day. For my other readers who read all this and wish to regain their past few minutes reading this meaningless Author's Note which was half ramblings of my findings as an author, I'm sorry to say that I stole those minutes.

Truly, thank you for supporting my work.
