Tears welled up in Alexandra's eyes as Nathaniel's words pierced her heart.
She never meant to hurt him, yet here they were hurt. It seemed like their lovely bond was being untied before her eyes.
She reached out to touch his hand, her voice trembling as she tried to find the right words to express her own anguish. "Nathaniel, I never wanted to hurt you," she whispered, her voice barely audible above the weight of pain.
With a swift motion, Nathaniel removed her hands away from him. After what she tried to do, her movements, tears and words everything started to seem hazy and mysterious to him.
