Chapter 71 - Chapter 9:Fuu to the rescue!

Kakuzu smirked as he tightened the grip of the earth fist on Naruko, her cries of pain echoing through the battlefield. Meanwhile, Hitomi's struggle became futile as the water pressure within the prison increased, forcing her to gasp for air while coughing out blood, making her suffocate. Kakuzu's sadistic laugh filled the air as he manipulated his mask monsters.

Kakashi stood frozen for a moment, his fists clenched tightly as his body trembled with rage. His visible eye burned with an intensity that matched the fire in his heart. He had seen them grow since they were little….watched them make mistakes, push through...and bond with each other. They're not just his team...they're his kids. HIS FAMILY! And Kakuzu DARED to mess with his family!

With a furious roar, Kakashi yelled, "LET THEM GO!"

His Sharingan spun wildly, the tomoe morphing and fusing into a pinwheel shape. The air around Kakuzu distorted as Kakashi's newfound Mangekyo Sharingan unleashed its power. A vortex materialized, pulling Kakuzu's body towards it. His eyes widened in shock as the space around his torso twisted and tore him apart.

"Damn it!" Kakuzu cursed as he staggered back, half of his torso obliterated along with his heart. He quickly commanded the lightning mask to retreat, abandoning its plan to kill Yuto. The mask beast moved towards Kakuzu, embedding itself in his body to replace the destroyed fire heart.

Kakashi stumbled, his breathing ragged, his vision swimming. His body threatened to give in, but his rage and will to protect his kids kept him standing.

Suddenly, the ground beneath the battlefield trembled. Two enormous beetles burst forth, their massive horns tossing the earth and water masks aside with sheer brute force. A green-haired girl descended swiftly from the sky, her amber eyes glowing with resolve. Her waterfall village headband glinted under the moonlight as she released a jutsu.

"Insect Style: Blinding Powder!" she declared, scattering a luminous powder across the battlefield.

The powder's blinding radiance disoriented Kakuzu, forcing him to shield his eyes. He growled in frustration as the mask beasts momentarily halted, thrown into disarray by the light.

The giant beetles wasted no time. One of them crushed the earth fist holding Naruko, freeing her, while the other shattered the water prison, allowing Hitomi to collapse onto the ground. Both beetles carefully picked the girls up with their horns and burrowed underground with them.

The green-haired girl quickly swooped down, grabbing Yuto's unconscious body. "Hang on," she murmured, her voice firm yet gentle as she lifted off into the air.

Kakashi, barely holding onto his consciousness, felt another beetle emerge behind him. Before he could say anything, the creature gently wrapped him in its horn and disappeared underground, carrying him to safety.

Kakuzu cursed loudly, his fury palpable. "They'll pay for this!" he bellowed, his remaining masks circling him like a storm. But as the battlefield grew silent, Kakuzu was left with nothing but his rage and the remnants of his mask beasts.

Yuto groaned softly as he slowly regained consciousness. His body felt heavy, and there was an unfamiliar sensation around him. As his vision cleared, he realized he was wrapped in something soft yet firm, like a cocoon. His eyes widened as he noticed it was made of a silky, translucent material.

'What is this?' he thought, struggling slightly against the cocoon, only to feel a sharp jolt of pain course through his body.

Looking around, Yuto saw Kakashi and his teammates similarly encased in cocoons, their chests rising and falling steadily. His gaze then shifted to a figure seated on a chair nearby—a young girl with short green hair, amber eyes, and a warm smile. She wore a Waterfall Village headband, and her demeanor was calm yet cheerful.

"You're awake," the girl said, her voice light but filled with relief. "Good. I was starting to worry."

Yuto blinked, immediately recognizing her. 'Fuu… the Seven Tails Jinchuriki.'

Fuu noticed his surprised expression and chuckled softly. "I guess I should introduce myself. I'm Fuu, and yes, I'm a shinobi from Takigakure. I was the one who brought you and your team here. You guys looked like you were done for."

Yuto gave her a weak smile. "Thank you… for saving us."

Fuu waved off his gratitude, though her smile softened. "Don't mention it. I couldn't just stand by and watch my benefactor die for our cause."

"Benefactor?" Yuto asked, despite the pain.

Fuu nodded. "I've been watching you all since you arrived. You helped save my village from those bandits. That alone is more than most people would've done. I couldn't do anything against that monster, but i still did my best and managed to get you guys out."

Yuto shifted slightly, trying to sit up but wincing as pain flared through his chest. Fuu stood immediately, her expression concerned. "Hey, take it easy! You're in no shape to be moving around. You've got burns and internal injuries. You'll need at least a week to fully recover."

She gestured to the cocoon around him. "I used my Insect Style: Healing Cocoon Jutsu to help accelerate your healing. It's the best I can do for now."

Yuto sighed but nodded. "Thanks. Really."

Despite his gratitude, unease gnawed at him. He knew they didn't have the luxury of time. Kakuzu wouldn't leave Takigakure, and until then, Fuu was in danger. He gritted his teeth and looked at Fuu.

"Fuu, can you untie my hands?"

Fuu frowned, crossing her arms. "What? No. You're in no condition to fight, let alone move. You should rest."

Yuto shook his head firmly. "I can't. Listen, Kakuzu is still out there, and he won't leave Takigakure empty-handed."

That made Fuu pause, her expression shifting to confusion and concern. "What are you talking about?"

Yuto took a deep breath, his voice steady despite the pain. "Kakuzu isn't interested in the Heroes Water or the village. When he met my team, he showed his real objective. He said he'd take my sensei's bounty and sell us to Kumo for money. And due to one of my teammates getting his attention more, i know what he wants."

Fuu's eyes widened, and she stepped back slightly. "Sell… you?"

"Yes," Yuto said firmly. "And he's after you too."

Fuu's body stiffened, her gaze darting to the side as she processed his words. Her voice wavered when she spoke. "Why would he…?"

"Because you're a Jinchuriki," Yuto replied bluntly, though his tone was gentle.

Her amber eyes widened in shock, and she took another step back. "I… I don't…" she stammered, her voice breaking.

Yuto noticed her trembling hands and the way her gaze dropped to the floor. He realized the weight of what he'd just said. 'She's sensitive about it…'

Softening his tone, he said, "Fuu, I don't care that you're a Jinchuriki."

Her head shot up, surprise etched on her face.

"My teammate is a Jinchuriki too," Yuto continued, shocking her even more. "And I don't think any less of her because of it. You saved me and my teammates. You're not just a Jinchuriki to me. You're my savior… and now one of my friends."

Fuu's amber eyes glistened with emotion, her lips parting slightly as if she wanted to say something but couldn't find the words. Her whole life, people had turned away from her, disgusted by her status. Yet here was someone—a stranger—who didn't see her as a monster.

"You… mean that?" she finally whispered.

Yuto nodded firmly. "Yeah. And I'm not going to let someone like Kakuzu hurt you. We'll stop him together."

Fuu stared at him for a long moment before a small, genuine smile broke through her shock. For the first time in her life, she felt seen—not as a weapon or a monster, but as a person.
