There was a moment of silence before Phil spoke again, "If you say so then I truly hope you are," Phil said and Liam swallowed.
Deciding to shift the conversation, Liam asked, "So… how's your baby mama and your child?"
Liam could almost hear Phil's exasperated sigh on the other end and he couldn't help the smile that tugged at the corners of his lips.
"She has a name, you know," Phil said and Liam shrugged even though Phil couldn't see him.
"Yeah, well, I don't remember it," Liam retorted, a hint of sarcasm creeping into his voice. "And it's easier to call her your baby mama. It's the truth anyway."
Phil chuckled lightly, though the sound was tinged with a sadness and concern that Liam didn't miss. "She's fine. Her friend came to visit."
"Good for them," Liam said dismissively, his mind already wandering back to the contract he was drafting. "I have to get back to work."
