Diana, who had heard the doorbell as well, but had been busy in the bathroom had stepped out to see who had visited.
She got to the living room just as Fiona left the living room. Sighting Liam, she smiled kindly at him, appreciating his presence and the comfort he brought to her daughter.
"Liam," Diana greeted him warmly, walking over to where he sat. "It's good to see you again," she said and Liam smiled.
"Likewise, ma'am," Liam replied, and Diana waved her hands.
"Call me Diana," she said and Liam smiled slightly.
"If you insist. How are you today? I hope you're doing well," he asked and Diana nodded, her expression thoughtful.
"I am, however, I've been thinking a lot about everything lately," she began, her tone serious yet gentle. "About Fiona, about you, and about this situation with Harriet. Fiona told me everything after I found out about the scandal," she said and Liam's face fell.
