Diana, who had been pacing the entire length of the room, with worry lines etched on her face, was just about to dial Fiona's number when she heard the door open.
She turned, her frown of concern turning into a look of surprise as Fiona walked in, a radiant smile lighting up her face.
"Fiona, dear, what happened? I was worried about you. Are you okay?" Diana asked, her voice a mix of relief and lingering anxiety.
She moved toward her daughter, her eyes scanning her face for any sign of distress even though she could still see the smile on Fiona's face.
Fiona shook her head, her smile widening as she approached her mother. "I'm sorry, Mom. I should've called you earlier. We had a lot to do at the office today, and while coming back, Liam decided to get us dinner," she explained, her excitement evident on her face.
