Because he wasn't exactly looking forward to the date, Liam had gone to the venue straight from work.
He wasn't exactly surprised to see Cora seated already at their table. As he approached her, he tried to ponder on Fiona and Derek's words.
Was Cora still in love with him but only pretending? Was this pretense probably a scheme she had concocted with his mom? He hoped not. He thought as he walked straight to their reserved table and took his seat across from her.
"Sorry I'm late," he said apologetically and Cora waved it off.
"It's okay. It's not like this is a real date after all. I just wanted to entertain myself by watching other diners hence I arrived early," Cora said with a sweet smile and Liam looked at her.
