Chereads / The CEO's Hired Girlfriend / Chapter 22 - I want you to stay

Chapter 22 - I want you to stay

Fiona and Harriet spent the next two hours talking about how elaborate she would want their wedding to be and how she would like her father, Mr Stones to invest in PK Enterprise.

By the time they stepped out of the house, Fiona could feel all her cheekbones aching from too much laughing, trying to please Harriet. This was by far the hardest job she had done. She told herself.

"You did good in there," Liam told her once they were comfortably seated in the car.

"So, that had been your plan all along," Fiona said, voicing out the only thought that had been in her mind since after the dinner.

"What was my plan...."

"I know you're not dumb so don't pretend to be," she said and Liam sighed.

"Yeah. I insisted we use this story because I knew she'd most likely misunderstand...."

"And now she's talking about marriage," Fiona cut in impatiently.

There was no way she was going to go back there or have to stand in as his girlfriend again. No matter the amount of money he offered so she was just going to make her stand known.

"You have nothing to worry about. I plan to tell her you broke up after you got back because your dad wants you to marry someone else," he said and Fiona shook her head.

"What if she finds Mr. Stones's number and calls him? What if Mr. Stones decides to lock me up for impersonation?" she asked and Liam chuckled, finding her paranoia amusing.

"What's amusing you?" she asked with a frown and he shrugged.

"You."

"Me? You think my being this worried is amusing? Why wouldn't you find it amusing when you're one of the most powerful men in the country? You could make things happen just by giving orders but me? I'm just a nobody and I'm scared of getting into any mess that would affect my mother. She's all I got. She's the reason I'm doing all this just to make sure she's back on her feet again," Fiona blurted out and then swallowed when she realized all she had said in her outburst.

"I shouldn't have said any of that to you, I'm sorry. Just take me home. I need to leave," she said, turning to face the window, but Liam didn't move.

Instead, he took her hand and turned her face in his direction. "I'm sorry I didn't understand your fears and where you're coming from but trust me, nothing is going to go wrong, okay? You and your mother would be safe, I promise," he said and Fiona's heart rate doubled at his promise to protect her and her mother whom he had never seen.

Maybe he was a good man after all. Maybe he wasn't all that bad. She mused as she gave him a nod even though she knew he wouldn't see her again. The last thing she wanted was to cross paths with him and have to meet his mom ever again.

"Good girl," he said before turning on the car's ignition and driving off.

Once they got home, Fiona let Liam open her car door and walked out hand in hand with him, in case his housekeeper was still awake.

"You know we don't have to pretend anymore, right?" he said and she rolled her eyes.

"I can't stop since we're not alone in the house. You said that yourself," she said and he nodded.

"But not today. They've all left. It's their off day today," Liam informed and Fiona nodded as she slowly disengaged her hand from his.

"I should probably go pack my things so you can drop me off," she said and Liam nodded as he watched her take the stairs, wondering why he felt sad she was leaving.

Fiona, the moment she stepped into Liam's room sighed as she looked around. This was Liam's room which she had stayed in for the duration of her stay.

She thought as she walked over to where her bags were and sat down, deciding to call Elena first to let her know she was back from there so that she could stop worrying since Elena was a worrywart.

Before she could dial the line, Liam knocked and stepped in, causing Fiona to drop her phone as she stood up.

"I'll be with you shortly....."

"Don't go...." Liam let his words trail off. He bent his head to the side and said, "yet," causing Fiona to swallow.

"..." she opened her mouth to speak but nothing seemed to come out so she cleared her throat. "Why? Our contract is over and I need to go," she tried again, finally voicing out what she wanted to say.

Liam shrugged. "I... uhm... I want you to stay tonight. Besides, it's late and my mom might call to talk to you tomorrow morning since we told her your flight is for tomorrow," he said, wanting to get her to stay.

"Still I don't think I should stay...." the rest of her words turned into a muffled sound when Liam kissed her, half expecting her to give him a slap.

Fortunately for him, succumbed under his touch, her knees feeling weak as floods of emotions and desire flowed through her.

Her senses left her and unlike the other day when she had stopped herself, Fiona couldn't as there was nothing left in her to stop her.

Liam pulled apart from her to catch his breath and to see if she'd want to stop but when she grabbed him again, clasping her body with his, Liam carried her off the ground and gently lowered her to the bed, deciding to worship every inch of her body.

Moans and cries of pleasure filled the room as Liam made sweet love to Fiona in a way, that even she nor him had done it before. He never knew he was capable of doing everything he did to and with Fiona as they made love.

Her cries and how much she seemed to enjoy the pleasure he was giving to her brought out the beast in him and soon, they were both panting and gasping for air as they sprung apart, each lying upwards, their bodies still feeling the sweetness from their act.

Fiona, unable to turn to Liam because she was ashamed of what she had just done, pretended to be asleep and soon, fell asleep, leaving Liam to wonder why he had placed too much emotion into the sex.
