Elena's heart ached seeing her friend like this. She placed a hand on Fiona's knee, trying to soothe her. "Harriet doesn't know Liam is here, Fi...."
"She can always figure it out," Fiona cut in and Elena nodded.
"And even if she did, this is the last place she'd think to look. Even if she looked, she has no power over him here. He left Harriet because he's tired of being under her control, Fi. You're safe here, Fiona. We all are."
But Fiona wasn't convinced. Her mind raced with all the ways Harriet could destroy everything she loved. "Still, I have to leave now that he's here. Harriet is evil. She meant every word she said to me, Lena and even if she didn't, I can't risk it. I won't let anything happen to my mom. I can't... I can't be near Liam," Fiona cried.
Diana sighed, her voice filled with quiet wisdom. "This is fate, Fiona. You can't keep running from it....."
