Chapter 27 - I Am Pregnant

"These Newbie resurrected zombies, do they have healing capabilities as well?" Viren asked, remembering the time when Kabir used his mace against a zombie.

"Yes, they can heal, but only if they have eaten some amount of flesh, but it is still not perfect like me or Agent S," Raj replied to Viren.

"Raj," Anju called out, her voice crackling a bit as she spoke, "Will... will Viren live if he... took that serum?" She continued looking down at the table, holding back her tears and keeping her hand on her belly.

"It's not certain, but he will have high chances after taking the serum," Raj said with a soft tone, knowing that Anju was being emotional.

"Viren, take it right now..." Anju said in a firm tone as she was interrupted by Viren.

"I CAN'T!" Viren exclaimed, clenching his fist, "I can't do this, with this serum there is a chance we can save at least one of these kids.... It would be worth more than my life," Viren said as he looked into Anju's eyes.

"But if you survive, you'll be able to save more, those who are alive," Raj said, putting his hand on Viren's shoulder, "And those who are about to come," he continued, looking at Anju.

To which Anju realized what Raj meant by this. He knew that Anju was pregnant.

Anju just looked at Raj in surprise, to which Raj replied while scratching his head, "Ahhh.... It is... something... something resurrected can sense... you know... like a... feeling of some sort, it's actually hard to explain."

Viren was just looking back and forth at both of them talking about something he quite didn't understand. "I am... pregnant," Anju explained with a hint of worry and sadness in her voice when she saw Viren being confused.

.....

"Wow....." Kiaan's mouth was left wide open as he saw Agent S literally launching herself towards the zombies and covering a distance of 20-25 meters in 3 seconds or maybe even less...

"Would you come and open the door, please?" Sam said, looking at Kiaan peeking from behind the corner they came from.

"Yeah.. Yeah." Kiaan said as he left his cover and walked towards, still amazed by what he just saw.

"You know, to be in a school like this, you sure looked very brave hiding there," Sam taunted Kiaan as the latter had covered half of the required distance.

"I was not scared, I was just taking cover... you know, if anything went wrong," Kiaan stated as he reached the door.

Although this was true, Sam thought that Kiaan was lying just to not be embarrassed around a kid.

Looking at the door and two students lying near his feet, Kiaan made a disgusted face as the small flesh of brain and a path of blood of both the students were stuck on the door going downwards.

"How many have been killed by now?" Kiaan asked the young boy as he was inserting the key in the lock of a metallic door.

"I... really... didn't keep count," Sam replied, keeping her hand on her chin and looking down at her feet, "But... if I had to guess, it has to be over.... 200." Sam said as she still stayed in the same posture.

Kiaan didn't doubt her, seeing what she just did he was not going to doubt her.

As they both entered the room, the room seemed to be smaller than outside, it was because a large machine had occupied most of the space. Apart from the green light coming off its indicator, there was no other light in the room, making it hard to see. But the smell of petrol and engine oil was very strong.

"How many have you killed?" Sam asked as she looked at Kiaan, who had just opened the door and was stepping in. "Have you even killed any of these infected?"

"It's not much actually...." Kiaan replied, embarrassment evident in his tone, "I have killed somewhere around 20." Kiaan thought that Agent S would laugh and act cocky, but the teenager didn't react to this, instead looked around on the ground for petrol containers.

"Ahh.... there they are." Sam said as she saw in a corner of the dark room.

"Where?" Sam asked, looking in the same direction while squinting his eyes.

There were petrol containers, but Sam, due to being somewhat of a superhuman, could see in the dark, while Kiaan couldn't, so he was naturally having a hard time even walking, as he feared he would bump into an open wire and get an electric shock.

Sam just grabbed 3 boxes in each hand uncomfortably and headed towards the exit while taunting Kiaan, "Seriously, you are fat and blind." She was annoyed with Kiaan by now, she was supposed to keep her being a special human secret from others and yet this guy had seen her do something rare twice in just one interaction.

"I am heading away, bring those two with you," Sam shouted as she ran in normal speed to avoid raising Kiaan's suspicions about her.

.....

The moment Kiaan and Agent S left for the generator room, Girish asked, "So who among you is Jai?"

"IT'S ME SIR!!" Jai yelled, moving a step forward while puffing his chest out and giving a salute.

This had gotten Girish a little uncomfortable."Oh...Uhh... So about those poor dead students," Girish said, trying to hide his discomfort and not let Jai feel uncomfortable. "Where are those?"

"THEY ARE KEPT IN PREMCHAND BLOCK CURRENTLY, SIR!!!" Jai continued with the same posture, but this time with both hands on his sides.

"Yeah... Take me there," Girish asked the head boy, still being a bit uncomfortable. "And please don't shout again... act normal."

"YES SIR..." Jai said. He saw Girish, then lowered his voice and repeated, "Yes sir, please follow me."

The reason why Girish felt uncomfortable was because he wasn't from a military background. He had never learned or seen such things. It was just some circumstances during this crisis that made him become a part of the military.

"Sir, what is all this, zombie thing? Are we... are we in trouble?" Jai asked in a slightly worried tone as both he and Agent G were away from the other students.

"Don't worry, things aren't as bad as they were shown in movies," Girish replied, trying to give hope to the young student.

But all Jai could focus on was "not as bad as," which meant it was bad. But Jai didn't ask anything further.

As they both reached their destination, they saw the dead students neatly kept in a large room, the shooting area.

Each student had their face and body covered with a white cloth, giving the dead the respect they deserved.

At the sight of this, Girish had a worry. "If these people are treating all these infected like this, I don't think anyone would let us burn them," Girish thought as he looked at Jai, who was just looking at the kids with sadness in his eyes.

Girish let out a sigh. "This will be a pain in my crack for sure."
