"I don't know why Maya is so fond of Kiaan," Kabir complained, sounding annoyed. His annoyance seemed to bother Rahul. "How can someone be so lustful to be thinking about a girl in the middle of all this chaos?" he thought to himself.
"They're very close, but she only sees him as a friend. You don't have anything to worry about," Sarah said, holding hands with Jai.
Sarah and Jai were sitting on a clean bed. Rahul sat on a chair, rocking back and forth on its rear legs. Kabir perched nervously on the table, worried it might break under his weight.
"Well, I've never been in a boy's room before," Sarah said to Jai, jumping excitedly off the bed. "Care to give me a tour?"
Jai smiled. "This is my area. It's a little messy, so forgive me."
Rahul scoffed and muttered under his breath, "Classic line."
They moved to the opposite side of the room. The bed was fine, but the study table was a bit cluttered. "This is Kabir's area," Jai said. "It used to be Rahul's, but they switched. Viren Sir doesn't know about it, and he sometimes scolds Rahul for not organizing his books. He compares him to Kabir for keeping his area clean, even though Kabir is lazy." Jai said this with amusement, and Sarah found it funny too.
They then moved to the areas at the end of the room, Just like before, one on the left and the other on the right. The left one was neat and clean, while the right one was messy. "This one belongs to Rahul," Jai said, pointing to the organized area.
"And the last one is Kiaan's," Jai said with disgust. Kiaan's area was a mess - unmade bed, scattered books, and a broken cupboard door hanging open.
"Doesn't Sir ever get mad at him?" Sarah asked. Jai chuckled. "Scold him? He punishes him with exercises, but Kiaan never cleans his room. He says cleaning is much harder than running a few miles."
....
After Jai and Sarah left for there tour Kabir and Rahul stayed silent for sometime. These two never got along infact Kabir never got along with anyone except Jai due to his insticts of not trusting anyone easily.
"So... About the control room," Kabir asked rahul breaking the silnce. "Did you knew it Having a link to girls hostel?"
"You stayed in this hostel for more than year and didn't figured it out?" Rahul counter questioned kabir with a chuckel, to which kabir didn't replied but shaked his head.
"Well it was built as a sort of emergency to serve a passage if any intruder happened to enter the hostel." Rahul replied.
"So did Wardens told you aboout it?" KAbir asked again. "No, Kiaan did." Rahul replied "He figured the valut, Control room's link, Roofs link, sceret exits and many other things just by looking at the layout we were given of the capmus and of each building." He countinued to which Kabir widened his eyes but soon realised that Kiaan had always been observent at weirdest things possible.
At that moment both Sarah and Jai came back. "You really shouldn't have done that." Jai said to sarah in a slight anger in his voice." "I don't mind, despite it is not like Kiaan to be so disorganized." Sarah replied with a concern in her voice.
Sarah was actually organizing kiaan's area and Jai helped her, they organized everything except the door.
At that moment they could hear firing coming form the direction of girls hostel. It was not much loud since the walls were made to be a bit sound proof but not completly.
"What took Viren and Anju so long?" Kabir complaint
Suddenly, they heard faint sounds of gunfire coming from the direction of the girls' hostel. The walls muffled the sound a bit.
"Took Viren and Anju long enough?" Kabir complained.

Roughly 20 Minutes ago
"I knew we'd be in trouble because of all the yelling and that idiot Kiaan," Zayn cursed as he and the other boys reinforced the study table barricading the room's door.
They were all in a bad situation. Infected creatures were outside the room, constantly trying to break in for a meal by pushing and banging on the door.
After their conversation with the wardens, Zayn started cursing and calling names to Kiaan. Jerry exploded in anger, and they argued. Their fight attracted the zombies, who were drawn to the noise and began banging on the wooden door.
"This wasn't my brother's fault, it was ours," Jerry said.
"And you're not helping by just standing there throwing a tantrum," Zayn taunted Jerry.
Kartik finally yelled in frustration while bracing the table firmly. "SHUT UP! We have a bigger problem here, and you two are fighting like Tom and Jerry."
Everyone thought Kartik was making a joke about Jerry's name, but he wasn't. It just came out that way.
"Jerry," Kartik said politely, "please go sit on your bed." Jerry obeyed her boyfriend, even though she was still angry. She stomped over to the bed.
"Is anything happening outside?" A tall, slim boy with dark hair asked from another room. He was sweating and had a bite wound on his arm, pressing on it for pressure.
"Yeah, it sounds like those zombies are banging on something," a girl with brown, curly hair and a chubby figure replied. She too had a bite mark on her leg.
The growling, grunting, and roaring of the zombies echoed throughout the hallway.
Another girl was seen kneeling and checking the pockets of a dead boy whose head was crushed. She had short hair and a strong jawline, but her chest revealed feminine features.
During the earlier chaos, some zombies had broken into a few rooms and bitten students before these young fighters took them down. This was the story in almost all the rooms.
"His name was Ali Lodu, and he was our senior," the short-haired girl said, looking at something she found in the dead zombie's pocket.
"May he burn in hell," the tall boy said with a grunt, making a cross with his good hand.
"Krish?" The curly-haired girl said in disbelief, looking at Krish.
"What? He bit us," Krish replied in a slightly high voice.
"Sonia... Krish," the short-haired girl, Zahera, said firmly. "Don't yell, or those zombies will come after us."
"Sorry, Zahera ma'am," both boys said in unison.
Just then, they heard loud gunfire coming from the stairs.
"Sounds like the wardens came to help us, but..." Krish said, looking at his bloodied arm.

"Damn it! Why aren't these crack-holes stopping?" Zayn yelled in frustration. It was getting harder to hold the table back.
"Stop shouting in my ear!" Hanu yelled back at Zayn. He was also having trouble holding back the study table and was indeed standing right beside him.
Now they could also hear loud gunfire coming from the stairs.
"Finally! The wardens are here!" Neil said with relief, moving his hands away from the table as the zombies had stopped pushing the door and started heading towards whoever was shooting them.
