"It appears not," Jian Yu replied, shaking his head. "Though some businessmen invited her to dinner as a gesture of gratitude, she declined. Once the companies she assists regain stability, she severs all ties with them, ignoring any attempts at contact."
"Is there anything else noteworthy about QUEEN?" Cheng Yuze pressed on.
"In addition to her elusive nature, QUEEN's life is fraught with danger, much like yours," Jian Yu revealed.
"Mine?" Cheng Yuze's interest was piqued.
"She's an incredibly intelligent woman, able to conquer the entire business world simply by leveraging her intellect." Jian Yu detailed, gesturing toward his own head. "Her sharpness and cunning have earned her many enemies. Major corporations have offered hefty rewards to unveil her true identity or even eliminate her. Yet, despite their best efforts, no one has succeeded, prompting some to doubt their own people."
"She's managed to remain concealed this effectively?" Cheng Yuze marveled, his intrigue deepening.
"Indeed. The moment she disappears, all traces of her vanish. Yet, when she chooses to resurface, the account named QUEEN reappears," Jian Yu confirmed.
"Fascinating. Accept her proposal," Cheng Yuze chuckled.
"Boss!" Jian Yu was taken aback by his boss's decision. He hadn't anticipated Cheng Yuze would entertain QUEEN's offer. Though she seemed remarkable, all information about her was based on rumors circulating within the business world. The truth remained elusive.
"Don't fret. We stand to lose nothing," Cheng Yuze wasted no time, swiftly reaching for the tablet he had set aside moments ago. Without waiting for Jian Yu to intervene, he composed a response to QUEEN, his fingers dancing across the screen with unwavering determination.
KGF: Certainly! Let's discuss tomorrow!
...
The following day, Cheng Yuze entered the office and seated himself directly at his desk. He opened his laptop and immediately noticed a message from the other party.
This task should have been delegated to Jian Yu, his assistant. However, his curiosity about QUEEN led him to personally communicate with her.
QUEEN: I suggest reconsidering the current project you've just launched. Lowering the interest rate on the debtor's loan would be advisable. If it remains this high, they will likely seek a new creditor in due time.
Reading the message, Cheng Yuze raised his brows slightly. Leaning forward, he tapped on the keyboard to craft his response to the other person's message.
KGF: Why do you hold that view? KGF has established a solid reputation over many years, attracting numerous clients, both old and new. They have placed their trust in our bank company. Additionally, while our interest rates may be high, the terms outlined in the contract are feasible. They have agreed to these terms without opposition. Why should we consider changing them?
Cheng Yuze's inherent pride prevented him from pondering QUEEN's suggestion even for a moment. He saw no issue with the interest rates set by the company for the clients. Furthermore, he believed the current crisis facing the company was unrelated to the loan interest.
Most importantly, did the other party even comprehend the challenges his company was encountering?
QUEEN: Have you noticed that the clients approaching your bank are primarily your existing ones? The number of new customers availing of your bank's services is declining daily, which is directly linked to the current issues your company is facing. Am I correct?
Upon reading the message, Cheng Yuze was momentarily stunned.
She had managed to discern their current situation solely by examining the project they had launched for the customers!
Her insight was remarkable, comparable to that of an experienced businessperson who had been in the business world for years!
Was she a professional businesswoman with extensive insight and experience in the business world? Could she perhaps be someone who had already retired and now sought to assist behind the scenes due to boredom? Just how old is she?
KGF: How old are you?
With that fleeting thought in mind, before he could deliberate further, Cheng Yuze impulsively typed and sent the message to QUEEN.
"Damn!" Cheng Yuze felt embarrassed by his impulsive action. He wished he could retract the message, but he was left dumbfounded by the response from the other end.
QUEEN: 21, why?
Cheng Yuze was rendered speechless by the sight of the number '21' illuminated on the screen. His eyes must have been playing tricks on him! How could someone so experienced be this young? He himself had been thrust into the world of business due to the passing of his father, acquiring experience over time.
It seemed inconceivable for the other party to have undergone a similar experience, didn't it?
There was also another possibility that QUEEN could be lying to him. After all, they only contacted each other through the internet. However, no matter how he thought about it, it didn't make any sense for the other party to lie to him. Why would she lie about her own age?
He shouldn't overthink it.
KGF: ...
QUEEN: Surprise? HAHAHA!
Staring at the screen, Cheng Yuze found it difficult to articulate his current emotions. Why did this exchange feel more like a conversation with a teenager on the internet? It hardly resembled a business discussion at all!
KGF: You're remarkably young.
QUEEN: Younger than you?
KGF: Yeah.
QUEEN: How old are you then?
KGF: 24.
After sending this, he felt compelled to add something more, so he placed his hands on the keyboard and typed another sentence.
KGF: You should address me as Brother.
Once the message was sent, he regretted it once again. He couldn't fathom why he was being so impulsive every time he conversed with the other party.
QUEEN: I don't want to. I'll never call you Brother, I'll address you something else if later we still in contact. *mysterious expression*
Cheng Yuze was left speechless. He sensed a hint of teasing in the text, as if she were toying with his emotions.
KGF: Do you think we'll continue contacting each other until then?
Cheng Yuze asked, quite intrigued by such a thought.
QUEEN: What do you think? *Lifting eyebrows*
Staring at the screen, Cheng Yuze was at a loss for words. Suddenly snapping out of the situation, he wondered what he was doing.
Shouldn't they be discussing business? Why were they engaging in such irrelevant conversation?
