Chapter 2 - 1. Isekai'd (1)

The peaceful darkness around me made it clear that I was dead, I couldn't see anything except for the twinkling stars which resembled the Milky Way, and I couldn't help but stare at them with a profound feeling of numbness and serenity.

I didn't realise how much time had passed or if I should care about the time at all. I was dead and time or any other element didn't matter to dead people.

It was ages since I had felt so peaceful. Back when I was alive I wasn't able to see the stars or let alone enjoy the beauty of nature. All the time, it was either the computer screen to monitor the red flags or my phone's screen.

But now all of that had disappeared. I was stripped bare of all of my distractions and left in this vast cosmos.

Was this how the Judgement felt like?

I was pretty sure I wasn't the best kind of person in my life, I committed sins, killed people, broke promises, hurt those who cared for me, and kept on with it despite knowing everything.

There were regrets that I had but now that I was dead I couldn't help but feel them all standing before me.

If only I had been a bit more honest with myself, if only I hadn't been stupid, if only I had faced my battles properly then maybe... maybe I would have fewer regrets now.

All those regrets were one thing but there was something that stood far apart from that, something which hurt even more now that I had recalled it.

I died without watching Luffy become the Pirate King!

There were also the new anime releases that I was waiting for but I could never get to watch them now!

What could be worse than knowing that you couldn't complete the seasons of your favourite anime or reading your favourite books?

Anyone at this point may wonder that instead of feeling bad for leaving everyone without a word of goodbye I was crying over the lost moments of entertainment.

Then as a clarification, I would like to inform you that my family was broken. There was nothing like happy memories when it came to my family so, I didn't care about that.

Honestly, they wouldn't even bat an eyelid if they came to know that I died.

Thinking of love life then I had none, I didn't have a boyfriend and I wasn't interested in it at all. Why?

Because I already had dozens and dozens of fictional crushes, the same reason why many Otaku girls wouldn't find a boyfriend.

Besides, the fictional boys wouldn't break my trust.

I lived quite long and to be honest, if it weren't for my job I'd be a sage heading towards celibacy devoting myself to books, anime and manga.

Alas, I needed to leave it all behind...

Just as I was starting to accept my new state I saw the bright light shining at a distance and before I knew it it had started coming close to me.

My vision was bathed in the bright white light for a moment and along with my regrets and laments I accepted the afterlife.

Or so I thought.

The floral scent tickled my nostrils and I snuggled deeper into the soft sheets feeling warm and content.

There was the sound of the birds chirping and the tranquillity in my surroundings just made me crave more sleep.

The peace lasted for a few seconds before my eyes flew open and I jumped out of my bed as I recalled I was supposed to be at work.

"What the hell! Where the hell is my phone? Why didn't my alarm ring? I have a damn meeting!" I panicked as I ran around looking for my phone and my stuff but for some reason, I wasn't in my room.

I looked around noticing the luxurious room which was even bigger than my apartment with purple walls, a huge king-sized bed, large windows, expensive-looking furniture and various decorative pieces. None of the things that I owned or afforded.

"Eh? Where am I?" I wondered as I reached out to touch my head and noticed the size of my hand.

"What the hell?" I brought both my hands in front of me noticing how small they'd gotten.

I wiggled my tiny fingers, they were white and flawless and there were no scars on my arms unlike what I was used to seeing.

I walked over to the mirror that was in the room and gasped stumbling back as I saw the reflection in it.

There was a small girl with waist-long white hair and a pale angelic-looking face which currently was morphed into an expression of shock. I gathered myself and walked closer to the mirror watching her large blue eyes framed by thick white eyelashes.

For a moment, I kept staring at her eyes, they were the most beautiful eyes that I'd ever seen, it was as if I was watching the clear frozen lakes condensed into two crystals. She had a small button nose and perfect bow-shaped pink lips. Her small petite self was dressed in a white nightgown and for a moment, I wondered if I was dreaming.

I raised my hand and pinched my cheek, the girl in the reflection copied my movements, my cheek stung as I pulled it and noticed the redness that was spreading over the girl's white cheek.

"That's me..." I gasped as I stared at the mirror unable to understand a thing.

Wait, wait, this wasn't me, I wasn't a child, I was a thirty-year-old working woman, I didn't have long white hair, my hair was short brown and my eyes were black, not blue. What was-

Suddenly, it clicked as if the pieces of the puzzle coming together.

"Have I been Isekai'd?" I wondered aloud.

I wasn't dreaming, I was sure that I'd died and now I was in this new body.

All of this only made sense if the conclusion was...

"Isekai!!!" I shouted in glee as I jumped up and down.

The dream of every Otaku to be in the Isekai world had come true for me!

Oh God of reincarnation, thank you so much!

Usually, it would be truck-kun who sent the protagonists into Isekai but for me, it was the bullet-kun, I guess.

Who would've thought the bullet of a terrorist would send me to the Isekai?

I had only read about this in the manwhas and books but now it was my reality!

Just as I was revelling in my newfound reality I heard the doors opening and I looked at the people who rushed in making me get in a fighting stance on instinct.

A man with short white hair looking as if he was in his middle thirties, a young boy with light pink hair that hung over his shoulders, two women in maid's uniform and a man in white Butler's uniform.

"Re-Reina?" The white-haired man gasped as he saw me and I slowly relaxed as they didn't seem like a threat.

I opened my mouth to answer but suddenly my vision was enveloped in darkness and I lost control of my new body falling back into the dark oblivion.
